Absolutely brilliant.
We knew what we were going for in the theatre. What surprised us the most was i. Aamir’s brilliant act ii. the treatment of the movie.
Even though the love story comes in intervals (even in the second half of the film), it brings a special story which justifies why Sanjay (Aamir) has gone so madly in revenge. Asin’s beauty and the romance fits the film perfectly. Aamir’s dual performances (as the typhoon and the amnesia patient on path of revenge) have been done beautifully.
The action sequences are mind blowing. Some you would find very gory but thats how it is. I loved it. It has a touch of south indian action but thats one of the highlights of the movie.
The music (thanks to A R Rehman) is very nice. Entire story is gripping. As a normal viewer, I dont know much about the screen play and other technical aspects, but it all looks beautiful so I guess they have done a good job too.
You will have to ignore some irregularities to enjoy this movie. Its not a Lagaan. But its much better than any other action movie made by India.
