There are very few films in your life you wait for bated breath to watch. In recent time if there was any, it has to be Ghajini. Lots of thanks to Aamir Khan and it’s producer’s marketic strategy. Personally, I have never felt to so desperate to watch in my entire life as i waited to watch Ghajini. Not that I am only Aamir Khan fan. I love both AK and SRK. But this hype was just too much to handle. I live in Muscat, Oman, there was no paid previews. I booked my ticket well in advance. I really felt sigh of relief when titles started rolling.
So much hype it has created. Be in news on TV or newspapers or websites on Internet, Ghajini was all over. No film has created so much hype as far as my knowledge goes. And did it recover my money when film got over? The answer is obviously YES. I won’t call it a great film or hatke film. But nobody ever claimed that it’s different film. It’s pure revenge saga. But the presentation is so gripping that you almost forget that it’s 3-hour long movie. Romance track and action track is so well balanced that you don’t find it boring at all at any moment.
I am not here to write any story or synopsis here as most of the people by now must have watched it. After seeing hindi version, am dying to watch it’s original Tamil version. It’s must have been a ‘must-watch’.
I won’t say A R Rehman has matched his previous film of the year like Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na... But yes, better than Yuvraaj. Guzarish and Behka will certainly make ur tongue dancing on their tunes. Other songs are not bad but they won’t live with you even after you’ll leave cinema hall. Ravi K Chandran has done it yet again. He has kept proving he’s best in business and here also his cinematography speaks high volumes of his work.
Direction: The man looks like a kid. So small in height. But so big in his imaginations. Story, screenplay, dialogues never bore you at any moment. Twists keep coming here and there. But still they’re not too much that you lose your attention. Shock comes when Aamir punch down the goons in the climax and loses his memory. Too good. Any normal movie would have shown hero getting treatment in the end and becoming normal and falling in love with another leading lady but thankfully story writer here has kept himself away from all that. That’s what the high point of the film. Despite being regular action and revenge saga, it doesn’t allow you to get up from your seat.
Watch out for King Aamir Khan. People who always believed that Aamir can’t play action roles. This is a terrific slap on their faces. Very few dialogues. But so many expressions on face. He’s just too good. What a mind blowing performance. Watch him in the climax. He never makes you feel that he’s Aamir Khan. You are bound to feel that it’s Sanjay Singhania who’s on the screen.
One more addition to Asin’s millions fans down south. Actress is truly natural. So many shades in just one film. Middle-class model who’s always willing to help poor and on the other side devoted lover to her love. In fact, it’s Asin who provides lighter moments in the film. Sensational Bollywood debut. Second sensational debut in three weeks after Anushka Sharma in Rab ne...
Jiah Khan impresses. If she did good against Amitabh Bachchan in Nishabd. She’s done better with Aamir here. She looks very natural. And Pradeep Rawat as title holder Ghajini is outrageous (take it in positive way).
I have read many reviews and few of them have come out with few flaws. But who’s perfect. And who cares as long as you get your Paisa Vasool. Truly, New year gift from Aamir Khan and Asin with lots of love. Go for it.
