the basic problem of don is the casting of shahrukh......farhan had remade a film that was very ahead of its time....with BIG B giving a great performance...in the role of don.....instead of having a lanky built he convincingly carried out the part of don with elan and a rusty ,simple,and great performance with great dialogue delivery in the charecter of vijay......with gripping performances by pran(who took double the amount of Amitabh for this movie),zeenat and iftikar......and the sound tracks sung by kishore kumar(khaike(all time hit) and are deewano....)were amazing even asha's track was unforgettable(ai mera dil....)..........but alas this was not to be in the original.......sorry farhan...i know you gave it your heart and soul and your twist at the end was the best part and you dont want us to compare it with the original....but still i think comparisons are inevitable......the biggest mistake you made is the choice of shahrukh as don.......neiter he has the physique or the acting talent to carry on the role..........only wearing good clothes doesnt make a good actor....farhan you did very well by killing the dehati charecter of vijay so early......because that was the worst enaction i have seen in my life.........even your roma was very weak........arjun rampal was good.....but he should have been the original don......kaareena destroyed the elan of helen.....but farhan your biggest mistake was including khaike......that too with shahrukh....in that god forbid dehati style..........also the movie was a wee bit long.....i felt sleepy........boman was very good in the film especially when he runs with a bullet in his hand.......please tell him to loose some weight...........the only half point i gave to this is because of you farhan.....another requesy to you is dont try to copy old songs as there cannot be another kishore kumar........and if you remake any other amitabh movie try to cast amitabh only.......since none living in this earth can replace his magnitude........try a kashmir ki kali for shahrukh next........but not a silsila or kabhi kabhi
