taran has criticized that the 1st half is introduction of characters.f corse i disagree the movie`s bout delhi 6 not abhi & sonam only.it had a lite hearted 1st half.and a bit serious 2nd half.it was not that bad as taran is saying.it is a delite to watch. a r rehman has yet `gain excelled .abhi is just very gud .sonam is very pretty & proved that she far better than the only 'hype' deepika.a gud message in end n a different movie indeed.watchin it 4-5 times wont mind.but it gets dragged sometimes.

"Zarre Zarre Mein Usi Ka Noor Hai Jhak Khud Mein Woh Na Tujhse Door Hai Ishq Hai Usse To Sab Se Ishq Kar Is Ibadat Ka Yehi Dastoor Hai" The plot started following these lines. Well this film is not like a typical hindi film we all can expect. And why should we expect a typical formula based commercial hindi film from the director who is Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra? Yes it’s true that after Rang De Basanti, many were expecting another film which will attract youth again. But let me tell you guys, this director was brave enough to make the film like Aks also. This film is about the relations, cultures, traditions, religious faiths and love. The director was just perfect while casting for the characters. He never tried to use the fame of the characters rather he used the talent and experience level when those were needed in some intense moments. As all we know about the level of the director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, he is an artist of his own field. He knows his quality, so never scared about the impact of the success or failure of his films. He is always very honest with his work, never compromises for the characters that’s why he choose for his film with the actors from three different generations starting from Waheeda Rehman then followed Rishi Kapoor and lastly Sonam Kapoor and made it look like so natural on screen altogether. Abhishek Bachchan as Roshan was the key character in this film. The film is shown almost through his eyes. An NRI brought his grandmother back to Delhi and started to realize about the soul of the cultures and traditions of Delhi. Though he was born and brought up in USA but he was a sensitive enough to realize the source of the problems hidden behind the daily life. Rakeys rightly said that Abhishek’s character was the most important and difficult one in this film. It was quite surprising to see the performance of a actress who is on her 2nd film. Yes, I am talking about.Sonam Kapoor as Bittu. She was fabulous. Credit goes to the director. He highlighted the character with shade of simplicity. She was looking truly beautiful. She handled her character superbly and delivered some nice emotional expressions in some scenes. Waheeda Rehman was especially terrific on her character. She delivered once again with pride. Rishi Kapoor and Om Puri justified their characters. Rest of the crew all leaved their footprints in the movie. And last but not the least the Kala Bandar character which was virtual but the backbone of the script. Every single man carries two types of characteristics – good and bad, the Kala Bandar was the bad side of those. The director kept that concept throughout the movie. And at the end he revealed it with lots of social messages for all. The music of this film is nice containing some hit tracks like Mashakkali, Delhi-6 title track. The Oscar winner talented music director A.R. Rahman proved his quality again. Though I thing he could do something more with background music. Otherwise its almost perfect. There are some parts I think the director might have something to do about. The background music was not up to the mark, especially on these types of sensitive scripts some intense emotional background music was requireed. There are so many songs put in the first half among them two extraordinary tracks like “Mashakkali†and “Rehna Tu†could be put in better situations or they might be put in the background score by showing some main frame activities so that people could enjoy the scenes. Cinematography was awesome. Some scenes made marks like in the song “Dil Gira Kahin Par Dafatan†the effects were excellent where the cultures of New York and Delhi were mixing in Abhishek’s mind. The conversations between Abhishek and Waheeda when he was telling her to go back to America. The Ram Lila sequences and lots more. In whole I must say that in these days publicity holds the key factor for the success of any movie. The distributors did fair job but the film is not targeted to the box office rather delivers a social message. Don’t take any reviews for granted (not even mine) better watch it and judge it with your own point of view because remember some of last year’s greatest movies like A Wednesday, Mumbai Mere Jaan, Sarkar Raj and even this years so called top movies like Slumdog Millionaire and Luck By Chance didn’t do much at the box office. Delhi-6 is an art came out directly from the heart of the artist Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Go and watch it. Regards TAN

This is not what I had expected from Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra. This moive was a huge disaponitment. The story telling was not good. They tried to do something different but it didnt work. The concept of the story was interseting but they could've had done better job with the screenplay.

Yeh Dilli hai mere yaar....Delhi-6 is a great, thought-provoking film with a brilliant ensemble of cast and the best technicians the industry has to offer. A great script, real characters who you can relate to...though it's called Delhi 6, it portrays a generic problem faced by any city...though, North Indians specially Dilliwallahs will surely relate to and love this film. Delhi-6 also has some great music, another masterstroke from AR Rahman, the guy just keeps getting better with every album. Last but not the least, another brilliant film from the ace director, Rakeysh of RDB fame...great cinematic experience.

I want to talk about Delhi 6, the simplicity that reflects in the storyline, the shots and the dialogues. A simple dialogue like 'Buger Chaap' is so true. A foreigner passing by and we say things like these. Delhi 6 is the portrayal of India, true India. We need more ppl like ROM to realise that more than 98% of our population lives like Roshan's family in the movie. Talk to any indian living abroad and they will tell you, they want to take thier last breath here in India. It's true that each kid who is born and brought up abroad has no clue about the values of India. People like that of the character of Rishi Kapoor do exist, who can't forget their first love. Is it that we don't want to face reality any longer? And such a fuss about a stupid thing like why doesn't Abhishek Bachchan have an accent in the movie? LEt's take a break, if we give creative licsence to KJo movies and believe that a multi millionare can fall in love with a lame poor girl, let's come to believe that not every indian abraod has an accent. And if at all some knowledge persists, the KALA BANDAR episode is true! Please GOOGLE it! That's how each one of us is living/surviving anyway. All and all Delhi 6 is a film for the intelligent and sensitive audience. Go get your own opinion and don't believe in anyone, neither Taran nor ME!

Delhi-6 is a great film and a must watch..It goes on to show how much Rakeysh has grown in these 3 years...his way of handling the film is more composed as compared to the aggressiveness during the time of RDB. It's foolish of people to compare Delhi-6 with RDb. Both are very different and hence one must only expect a great film from a director of such caliber. Lastly I would like to tell people not to go by misleading reviews like the ones posted on this site by the so called trade analyst Taran Adarsh...It's not a film for people with low or no intellect. So watch the movie and be your own judge
