Bodyguard, one of the most awaited movie of the year. and the sole reason being SALMAN KHAN.the actor has got three blockbusters in a row. 'wanted', 'dabanng' and 'ready'.Bodyguard is surely to ride on salmans's star power but does it have an equally convincing story.Lovely is summoned for an assignment of guarding Divya [Kareena Kapoor], the daughter of Sartaj Rana [Raj Babbar], a business tycoon. Lovely accompanies her to her campus, but ends up rubbing her the wrong way with his over-protective nature. She finds him to be a major obstacle in leading a regular campus life. To throw him off-track and get him out of the way, she comes up with a 'master plan' -- that of trapping him in a fake love affair. 'Once he's smitten by the girl of his dreams and is reveling in his new-found romance, he will leave us alone and we shall be free to do our own thing unhindered', says Divya to her friends.
She becomes an anonymous admirer of his and starts hounding him, expressing her 'feelings' in no uncertain terms. Lovely, however, proves to be a tough nut to crack and it takes quite a bit of doing from her side to penetrate his fort-like exterior. But once she succeeds in doing so, he transforms into a completely different person. Divya is triumphant and is all set to relish her regained freedom.
But things take an unexpected turn when she learns a few things about Lovely. Things that she could've never even imagined. And she soon finds herself trapped in a dilemma that she's unable to resolve. And with her, soon enough, Lovely finds himself trapped in a web of lies, trickery and
deceit.
Bodyguard has a good convincing story to tell.the screenplay is also quite good to an extent.
the first half gets onto a routine mode.there are comic scenes which make you laugh but there some which dont.also the first half is plain normal. the story gets into speed from the pre-interval portion athe the club when divya (kareena) realises her feelings for lovely (salman).the second half is a complete delight to watch.action
drama and romance in this hour is what makes bodyguard an entertaining watch.however the twist in the tale is a little awkward but the nonetheless the movie ends beautifully.dialouges are good though not as effective as dabanng and wanted.action is one of the biggest usp's of the film and when you have the superstar salman performing it , then its altogether gets onto a different level.music is outstanding.'teri meri' and ' i love you' ar the pick of the lot.the picturisation of the song 'teri meri' is astonishing , complete paisa vasool.cinematography is superb.direction by siddique is quite simple. he executes the subject with simple and ease.
Bodyguard works only and only because of salman and kareena.Salman is again brilliant in a role tailor made for him.his action, his antiques , his style , his persona everything about this actor is superb.kareena again stuns the audience with her simple yet effective performance.she is quite good in the first half but superb in the second half.the chemistry between salman and kareena is good but not brilliant as they are not shown as lovers in the movie.hazel lends good support to the cast.mahesh manjrekar is superb.aditya pancholi is terrific.rajat rawail goes over the top in some scenes but is quite good overall.
raj babbar is good.asrani is adequate.chetan hansraj is fine.katrina excels in her special appearance.overall , BODYGUARD completely belongs to salman and kareena.the first half is normal but its the second half which makes bodygaurd an interesting watch.worthy !
