3.5 Very Good

I saw Baabul last Saturday and I was quite impressed with the theme. Such a theme of widow's getting remarried is seen rarely in Bollywood films. However, it works.

Without giving the story away, I can only say the film was very emotionally packed. As I sat through the film, the lady next to me began crying continously. She couldn't keep the tears within her eyes.

On the negative side, the film does move at a sluggish pace. Performance wise, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Rani Mukherjee act superbly. Hema Malini does not share the same amount of scope that she had in Baghban. However, while she is there, she leaves a mark. John Abraham acts very good in a role which many think might not have suited him. He definitely proved non-believers wrong. As for the rest of the suppotring cast, they all left quite a mark. Special recognition should go to Sharat Saxena. He was amazing. Rajpal Yadav was good this time around but he has had better performances in the past. A great effort nonetheless.

Overall, a great film to watch with family. Ladies will definitely shed a bucket full of tears from the last time they did in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Watch and enjoy!
