Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk's romantic comedy film Bad Newz recently hit theatres on July 19, receiving a positive response from audiences. The film's opening day earnings marked the highest opener in Vicky’s career. Amidst promoting Bad Newz, Vicky also took the opportunity to discuss future projects and address fans' anticipation of seeing him share the screen with his wife, Katrina Kaif.

For a long time, fans have eagerly awaited the on-screen pairing of Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif. During a recent media interaction, Vicky was asked about the possibility of working with Katrina. His response has since garnered significant attention, reflecting his thoughtful approach to choosing projects.

 

The perfect story matters

 

Vicky stated, “I hope that Katrina and I will be seen in a film soon. We are also looking for such a story, but we do not want to do a film that is made just by taking us together. Our pairing should be according to the demand of the story; only then will it be fun. We are waiting and we are not in any hurry for this.” His comments highlight the importance of a meaningful script over merely leveraging their real-life relationship for on-screen chemistry.

 

Current and upcoming projects

 

Bad Newz, directed by Anand Tiwari and produced by Amazon Prime, Dharma Productions, and Leo Media Collective, is inspired by true events. It serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2019 film Good Newwz and explores the concept of heteropaternal superfecundation. Vicky's next project is the historical drama film Chhava, directed by Laxman Utekar, where he stars as Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The film, which includes music by A. R. Rahman, is set for release on December 6.

 

Katrina Kaif's recent work

 

On the other hand, Katrina Kaif was last seen in the mystery thriller film Merry Christmas, directed by Sriram Raghavan. The film, which also stars Vijay Sethupathi, is based on Frédéric Dard’s French Novel Le Monte-charge (The Bird in the Cage). Produced by Tips Films and Matchbox Pictures, Merry Christmas has added another intriguing performance to Katrina's diverse filmography.
