Veteran actor Saira Banu recently shared her thoughts on the significance of Dussehra, a Hindu festival celebrating the victory of good over evil, and fondly recalled a scene from her 1974 film Resham Ki Dori.

On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, Saira Banu took to her Instagram story to share a scene from the film Resham Ki Dori. In the clip, she can be seen lifting the bow to the effigy of Ravana, and the scene is filled with cheer following the burning of the idol. She captioned the post with a message, “As we celebrate Dussehra, let us reflect on the message it carries: Victory of virtue and right over vice. I wish you all a very Happy Dussehra; may you receive the best that God has to offer.”

 

 

On the professional front, Saira Banu made her acting debut in 1961 with Junglee'opposite Shammi Kapoor. For the unversed, Saira Banu and Dilip Kumar tied the knot on October 11, 1966, and the couple were together for over five decades. Dilip Kumar passed away on July 7, 2021 due to old age ailments and prolonged illness.
