South Korean network TVING released a new trailer for the upcoming second season of hit romantic-comedy drama Yumi’s Cells, starring Kim Go Eun and GOT7’s Jinyoung.

The teaser begins with Yoo Babi (Jinyoung) asking flustered Yumi (Kim Go Eun), “Have you waited long?” In the next scene, Yumi accidentally trips down a flight of stairs and is caught by Yoo Babi. “Are you alright?” he asks and her cells start to celebrate, beating a drum indicating Yumi’s heart-fluttering feelings towards her co-worker. “He’s so attractive,” her cells exclaim.

 

Yoo Babi begins to make straightforward advances at Yumi as asks, “Can we start now?” Puzzled Yumi questions, “Start what?” to which Yoo Babi replies, “A date.” The cells react wildly, exclaiming that her heart is under attack as Yumi stares at Ba-bi in shock and chaos ensues as a rock comes flying towards the kingdom’s gates, analogous to the way Yoo Babi flirts in an open and honest manner. The text reads, as translated by Soompi, “More powerful heart-fluttering will come,” as the teaser ends with Yoo Babi’s love cell making a charming entrance.

 

Based on the popular web comic of the same name, Yumi’s Cells tells the story of an office worker Yumi from her brain cells’ point of view. Its first season, which aired last year, detailed her brain cells’ attempts to revive her love cells, which had fallen into a coma after a failed relationship through her connection with game developer Go Woong (Ahn Bo Hyun). Kim Go Eun plays the titular role of Yumi, an ordinary woman who struggles with expressing her feelings. The forthcoming season focuses on Yumi’s blossoming relationship with her co-worker, Yoo Ba Bi (Jinyoung).

 

Yumi’s Cells 2 is slated to premiere on June 10. Watch the teaser trailer below.
