Pulkit Samrat’s brother Ullas Samrat makes his debut with the LGBTQ+ relationship drama TAPS

National Award winning director Sudhanshu Saria's who, along with KASHISH Film Festival and Lotus Visual Productions, recently produced the short film, TAPS, directed by Arvind Caulagi. The movie premiered at the prestigious Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival on June 8, 2023. The film is a LGBTQ+ relationship drama and it is said to have marked the debut of popular actor Pulkit Samrat’s brother Ullas Samrat.

Kashish Film Festival is a mainstream queer film festival in India. Coming to the film TAPS, it is a moving LGBTQ+ relationship drama that captures the essence of love and identity. The film is expected to have received a lot of love at the festival after it struck a chord with the audience for showcasing this subject with sensitivity. Among the numerous films showcased at the festival, the film also won the Kashish QDrishti Film Grant, and was also chosen for its world premiere under the Indian Narrative Shorts category.

 

Along with a lot of love that the film received, the lead actor Ullas Samrat too was appreciated for his powerful debut. Brother to actor Pulkit Samrat, Ullas is expected to have made his character resonate with the audience. Talking about his big debut and the love coming his way, Ullas Samrat said in a statement, “TAPS has been such an exciting journey for me. I am really grateful for the reaction and love that we got. It was indeed an honour to be a part of such a great story. The response from the audience itself was very rewarding and I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity to debut with.”

 

Other than Ullas Samrat, the short film also stars Rohit Mehra in a pivotal role. Taps is a film by Sudhanshu Saria's Four Line Entertainment in collaboration with the Kashish Arts Foundation, and Lotus Visual Production. Arvind Caulagi serves as both the writer and director of the film.
