Preity Zinta recently engaged in an impromptu chat with her followers on Friday on X (formerly Twitter). During the session, the actress reminisced about her experience filming Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), particularly a scene where she had to slap Shah Rukh Khan. Directed by Karan Johar, the film starred Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kirron Kher alongside Zinta and Khan. The two actors portrayed a married couple facing struggles in their relationship.

How Preity Zinta Recalled the Incident

 

During the interaction, Preity responded to an old tweet from 2015, in which she had shared an anecdote about slapping a co-actor too hard in Kya Kehna. Reflecting on the experience, she admitted that as a newcomer, she struggled with timing staged slaps to look real without making physical contact. She humorously noted that she later experienced “filmy karma” by being on the receiving end of slaps in other films.

 

Why Preity Zinta Had to Slap Shah Rukh Khan

 

Zinta then revealed that she had also slapped Shah Rukh Khan in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. The scene required authenticity, and Khan insisted that the slap be real to enhance the impact. “Oops! I did actually slap SRK in KANK... Not cuz I wanted to but cuz he wanted it to be real, and that was not pretty either,” she shared.

 

 

Fans React to the Revelation

 

A curious fan asked whether she enjoyed slapping Shah Rukh Khan. In response, the actress clarified, “No! It was not for fun... moreover, I don’t slap him... it was Rhea Saran who slapped him.” Rhea Saran is the character played by Zinta in the film.
