Pati Patni Aur Woh Do director Mudassar Aziz calls Ayushmann Khurrana “nation’s favourite ‘good man in a situation’”

Ahead of the trailer release of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, director Mudassar Aziz, known for his sharp wit and massy comic sensibilities, returns with yet another full-blown entertainer. Having carved a niche with his writing and direction that resonates strongly with audiences, Mudassar now brings together a vibrant multi-starrer led by Ayushmann Khurrana, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan, and Rakul Preet Singh.

Speaking about collaborating with Ayushmann, Mudassar shared, “I believe Ayushmann Khurrana is the nation’s favourite ‘good man in a situation’. His excellence has shone through his work over the decade in this genre. I am proud to bring to his audiences an Ayushmann Khurrana, who this time is also the solution to his own situation. Prajapati Pandey selected Ayushmann Khurrana to play himself effortlessly.”

 

Sharing insight into the franchise, Mudassar emphasized the evolution of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, hinting at a fresh take while retaining its core comedic essence.

 

Known for handling ensemble casts, Mudassar also opened up about the dynamics on set. “Holding multiple character arcs in situational comedy requires effort in first devising a gripping screenplay. To not get carried away by gags, but to rather make an effort to put them in situations, allows them to retain their arcs. As for comedy timing, I’m blessed I worked with 6-7 fantastic actors on this one and that is their credit as much as mine,” he said.

 

At its heart, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do celebrates classic desi humour with a modern twist loaded with confusion, chaos, and laugh-out-loud moments that stem from everyday relationships. The film leans into its rooted, slice-of-life tonality while amplifying the madness through quirky characters and situational comedy.
