KRK's 'Hathyar' versus Anurag Kashyap's tongue-lash
The irrepressible (to put it mildly) Kamal R. Khan, aka KRK has done it again. He has gotten people in the film industry so angry and upset that they are embarrassing themselves in public. This is precisely the impact that that KRK hopes for each time he rankles on a celebrity nerve.
KRK's 'Hathyar' versus Anurag Kashyap's tongue-lash
This time, though, things have gone too far, with Kashyap publicly declaring he would preserve KRK's 'hathyar' (and I don't think he meant KRK's pen) in a museum if Bombay Velvet did well.
The tu-tu-main-main has embarrassed everyone associated with Bombay Velvet.
A close friend of Kashyap reveals this is not really a war between Kahyap and KRK but a war within Kashyap. "It's raging within him as the release date of Bombay Velvet approaches. There is too much hanging in balance for both Kashyap and his co-producers Fox-Star. Bombay Velvet is crucial to them."
The film has apparently gone steeply over-budget.
Says the source, "Budgeted at an estimated Rs. 120 crores Bombay Velvet will need a miracle to make back that kind of money. Fox-Star's past few films including the latest Mr. X have been failures. As for Kashyap none of his films has really made much money. Bombay Velvet is big-ticket wannabe blockbuster. He can't afford to slip up. It is also crucial to Karan Johar and Ranbir Kapoor. Karan, because this is first major acting role, and that too as a villain. And Ranbir Kapoor needs a hit. He doesn't want to burn his finger a third time while experimenting with content and subject."
Says the source, "Kashyap and Ranbir both badly need a big hit. Any kind of negative talk regarding the film has to be avoided."
