Veteran actor and comedian Johnny Lever has voiced his opinion on the ongoing controversy surrounding Hera Pheri 3, in which Paresh Rawal is no longer part of the cast. Speaking to Times Now, Johnny expressed disappointment over the development and urged Rawal to reconsider his decision, adding that the iconic franchise would feel incomplete without him.

In his statement, Johnny Lever said, “Mujhe lagta hai ki kar lena chahiye unko film, baithke baat karein, matter solve karein kyunki fans bohut miss karenge Paresh ji ko film mein, maza nahi aayega na waisa unke bina...” He further explained that it would be best for everyone if the matter were resolved through conversation.

 

Lever’s comments come amid Akshay Kumar's consideration of legal action against Rawal over breach of trust, after the latter exited the film. The move shocked fans, many of whom associate Rawal’s character Baburao Ganpatrao Apte as central to the Hera Pheri franchise.

 

Fan Sentiment and Franchise Expectations

 

Fans of the cult comedy series have been vocal on social media, expressing disappointment over Rawal's absence. With his portrayal of Baburao earning a legendary status in Indian pop culture, many believe that Hera Pheri 3 without him could lose its nostalgic charm and humor.

 

On the work front, Johnny Lever will next be seen in Housefull 5, another ensemble comedy helmed by Tarun Mansukhani. The film boasts a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Nana Patekar, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Fardeen Khan, Sonam Bajwa, and Nargis Fakhri. Housefull 5 is slated to hit theatres on June 6.
