Ananya Panday expresses admiration for Akshay Kumar's iconic comedy films; says, “I could watch it 100 times on repeat”

Bollywood actress Ananya Panday has sparked excitement among fans with reports of her collaboration with superstar Akshay Kumar in an upcoming film cantered on the life of C. Sankaran Nair, a prominent lawyer and former politician known for his relentless pursuit of truth regarding the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. While the actress didn't explicitly confirm their partnership, she shared insights into her admiration for the actor during an interview with ETimes.

Reflecting on her admiration for Akshay Kumar’s career, Ananya Panday expressed profound admiration for the actor's contributions to Indian cinema. She said, “Akshay Sir has defined an era in cinema which, by far, has been my most favourite. His films like Hera Pheri, Welcome, De Dana Dan, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Garam Masala, they've been the most iconic films for me. I could watch it 100 times on repeat, they’ve made me laugh so much.”

 

Furthermore, Ananya Panday lauded Akshay Kumar's exemplary professionalism and dedication to his craft. The actress further added, “He is the most professionally involved person I've come across. He remembers everything, he gives the most fun ideas. I've even heard from my dad that he keeps the set fresh and light, is always pulling a prank, and never takes himself too seriously.”

 

Meanwhile, on the film front, Akshay Kumar, who was last seen in Mission Raniganj, is gearing up for the much-awaited action entertainer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan where he will be joining hands with Tiger Shroff for the first time. The film is also expected to feature popular South star Prithviraj Sukumaran as the antagonist and it is slated to release on April 10.

 

Talking about Ananya Panday’s film front, she was recently seen in Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav starrer Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. The actress has also been working on a cyber thriller directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. Apart from films, Ananya will be making her web series debut with Call Me Bae that is slated to premiere on Amazon Prime Video. The show will feature her as a wealthy fashionista, who is disowned by her family after a major scandal.
