Box Office: Toilet – Ek Prem Katha becomes Akshay Kumar’s 4th highest opening weekend grosser

 

The Shree Narayan Singh directed film Toilet – Ek Prem Katha starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar hit screens last week on Friday. After collecting Rs. 13.10 cr on its opening day, the business of Toilet – Ek Prem Katha witnessed good growth over the weekend thanks to positive reviews and good word of mouth. In this special report we take a look at the opening weekend collections of Toilet – Ek Prem Katha while comparing the same to Akshay Kumar’s previous releases. Managing to cross the Rs. 50 cr mark on its opening weekend, the film garnered Rs. 51.45 cr within three days becoming Akshay Kumar’s fourth highest opening weekend grosser.

 

Though the opening weekend collections of Toilet – Ek Prem Katha do no manage to surpass Akshay’s previous releases like Singh Is Bliing that collected Rs. 54.55 cr, Housefull 3 that collected Rs. 53.31 cr and Brothers that collected Rs. 52.08 cr it does manage to out beat the collections of the actor's other films like Jolly LLB 2 that collected Rs. 50.46 cr, Rustom that collected Rs. 50.42 cr, Rowdy Rathore that collected Rs. 48.30 cr and Airlift that collected Rs. 44.3 cr.

 

While the collections of Toilet – Ek Prem Katha over its opening weekend yet again prove that Akshay Kumar may just be the most consistent and bankable star, what remains to be seen is whether the overall collections of the film see growth in the coming days.
