Box Office: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's Tiger Zinda Hai collects Rs. 34.10 cr. on Day 1

 

For last four years, the record for biggest opening ever for Christmas season was held by Dhoom: 3 which brought in Rs. 34.50 crore for the Hindi version (if one includes the Tamil and Telugu version as well, the number goes up to Rs. 36.22 crore). Well, even though the record has stayed, Tiger Zinda Hai has still stayed well at Rs. 34.10 crore at the Box Office. The film has released in just the Hindi version and has done great guns on its very first day. Moreover, the good news for Yash Raj Films is that both Dhoom: 3 and Tiger Zinda Hai are their productions with a Khan and Katrina Kaif as the common elements.Box Office: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's Tiger Zinda Hai collects Rs. 34.10 cr. on Day 1

 

The film was always expected to take a very good start and this is what has indeed happened. The opening was good all over the country and then the collections stayed on to be positive right through the day, hence ensuring that a healthy number was always on the cards. There was a very exciting T-20 match in the evening as well with India doing great guns, though chances are minimal that audiences who wanted to watch Tiger Zinda Hai on the first day would have postponed their plans to Saturday or Sunday due to that reason.

 

Nonetheless, the great news is that the year is concluding on a high with a fantastic start for Tiger Zinda Hai. Salman Khan's pull over the audience has been demonstrated all over again with the opening of Tiger Zinda Hai which is the best for a Bollywood release in 2017, as it has gone past Golmaal Again Day One of Rs. 30.14 crore.

 

All eyes are now on how Saturday, Sunday and Monday turn out to be. Rest assured, more than Rs. 30 crore each would definitely come on each of the days and if even one of the days ends up hitting the Rs. 40 crore mark, the film could well be looking at some serious records. For now though, a Rs. 100 crore weekend is pretty much for the taking since the word of mouth is largely positive as well. What needs to be seen is how Tiger Zinda Hai progresses further ahead in its quest to attain a Blockbuster status.
