Box Office: Distributors domestic report card Quarter 1 - 2014

 

As we begin the second quarter of 2014, Bollywood Hungama takes a retrospective look at the business of the leading distributors in Bollywood. In this analytical report card, we pit the distributors against each other comparing them based on the number of films they released and the subsequent collections from their releases.

Box Office: Distributors domestic report card Quarter 1 - 2014

 

Interestingly, it is Eros International that leads the charge with a total collection of Rs. 120.97 crores with just two films Jai Ho and Dishkiyaaon. The mega production house Yash Raj Films comes in second with collection of Rs. 92.61 crores again with two releases Gunday and Bewakoofiyaan, while Raksha Distributors that released Shaadi Ke Side Effects and Ragini MMS 2 comes in third collecting Rs. 83.22 crores, A. A. Films that also had two releases Yaariyan and Hasee Toh Phasee comes in fourth collecting Rs. 77.54 crores.

 

Surprisingly, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures took fifth place, and Disney - UTV Motion Pictures the sixth, while the big budget production house Fox Star Studios did not have a single release in the first quarter.
