BO Report card: Yamla Pagla Deewana Vs Yamla Pagla Deewana 2

 

The second installment of the Deol parivar's comic caper, Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, released last week. The first part which opened to a good response prompted the makers to continue and make a sequel. We at Bollywood Hungama decided to take a closer look at the two films in terms of their Box Office numbers.

In this report, we compare both YPD and YPD 2 taking into consideration their Opening Day Collections and Opening Weekend Collections. Shockingly, YPD 2 did lesser business than YPD on both the Opening Day and the Opening Weekend.

 

One can say that YPD 2 has faced stiff competition from the Ranbir- Deepika starrer Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, resulting in the film garnering significantly lower numbers as compared to its prequel.

 

Interestingly though, YJHD has jumped ahead in its second week with Rs 28.75 crore on weekend, compared to YPD 2's Opening Weekend of Rs. 22.5 crore.
