Hoping for a glorious finale!

 

The year 2012 has had its share of highs and lows. But it's thriving right now. The last few weeks of 2012 are expected to set cash registers jingling, making the mood of the industry upbeat and euphoric. In fact, the best phase has already commenced... JAB TAK HAI JAAN and SON OF SARDAAR have already grossed impressive numbers in India, while TALAASH, KHILADI 786 and DABANGG 2, starring A-listers all, are expected to add power and muscle to the already robust revenue generated all through this year. DABANGG 2, in particular, is expected to rewrite BO records, courtesy the unparalleled and unequaled popularity that Salman Khan enjoys.

What really makes 2012 special is the acceptance of films that were considered dicey till a few years ago. While masala films called the shots and hit the pot of gold, 'experimental' films like PAAN SINGH TOMAR, KAHAANI, VICKY DONOR and BARFI!, which were considered risky by soothsayers till a few years ago, also achieved unimaginable targets as far as BO is concerned. The volume of business witnessed ample growth this year and with more and more screens opening up, 2013 might witness a further boom with the 100 cr mark being referred to in the past tense. Hopefully, a new target will be set.

 

Talking of TALAASH, KHILADI 786 and DABANGG 2, the spurt in business is expected to be unimaginable in the domestic as well as international markets. Aamir, Akshay and Salman are influential enough to rewrite the rules of the game and if these three films have what it takes to be bona fide hits, it would only be the most appropriate conclusion to an otherwise glorious year. Fingers crossed!
