Has Aamir Khan become 'brand-less' today?

After the (infamous) 'intolerance' controversy that erupted late last year following Aamir Khan's statements, seems like the troubles haven't ended for the actor. Till about late last year, Bollywood's 'Mr. Perfectionist' Aamir Khan was one of the most expensive celebrity endorser (read 'brand ambassador') for any brand. Ironically, the Khan superstar currently doesn't have any endorsement deals currently.

Whether it is out of choice or by force is something no one except Aamir Khan himself will be able to answer. In the 'Khan-did' race for brand endorsements, while Aamir Khan's contemporaries Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan continue to rule the roost with their respective set of brands (of which they are ambassadors), Aamir Khan becomes, by default, the only Khan to be without any brands in his kitty as of date.

 

Readers may recall that the recent times have not exactly been in favour of Aamir Khan. While on one hand, India's tourism Ministry dropped him from being the brand ambassador of its prestigious 'Incredible India' campaign, it was immediately followed by the e-commerce firm Snapdeal deciding not to renew Aamir Khan's contract as a brand ambassador.

 

Amidst all this, there is also an insider's perspective about the whole brand arena of Aamir Khan. The insider (who is closely associated with Aamir) reportedly said he and his team are in discussion with a handful of brands, whose announcement will happen when something materialises.
