Dil Se PoochKidhar Jaana Hai set to release on 15 Dec
Aditya Shrivastava of CID fame and theatre personality Vina Tripathi will soon be seen together in Dil Se PoochKidhar Jaana Hai. The movie has been written and directed by Shrirang Ramchandra Dhawale, National Award winner for Marathi film Pudcha Paol. The movie will hit the theatres on 15th December 2006.
Dil Se Pooch is a love story with a socio-political theme. It has been set in the backdrop of the 1990s Mumbai Riots. The story attempts to throw light on how the society moulds and changes individuals. Aditya Srivastava plays an image-defying role of a police officer Avinash, who gets separated from his love during the Mumbai riots,
only to meet her again as a prostitute. Aditya and Vani are bound to shock the audiences with their power charged performances, claims producer Suresh Picha Jain. He also adds that director Shrirang has tried to handle this socio-political issue with sensitivity.
Vani Tripathi, a model turned actress, and a theatre artist, has made a bold move by taking up the role of a prostitute for the first time in commercial cinema. She has worked with directors like Ramesh Sippy, Aziz Mirza, Kundan Shah and Tanuja Chandra. However, she believes that the role of Aliya is the most challenging one she has taken up so far, which will also help her evolve as an actress as it demands a "wholesome approach".
The film also stars Ashok Shinde, Lushin Dubey, Abhijit Lahri, Vijay Amaurya, Sushita Thatte, Ravi Khanwilkar, Rihitashv, Neeraj Sood and Jitendra Roy.
