Singer Armaan Malik has lent his voice to Mangala Sangama, the Kannada version of a song from Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor. Composed by AR Rahman, the song marks another addition to Armaan’s multilingual musical repertoire. The singer spoke about the experience of being associated with the film and how singing in Kannada makes the collaboration particularly meaningful to him.
Sharing his thoughts on the project, Armaan said, “Being a part of a vision like Ramayana is honestly a dream come true. Getting to sing Mangala Sangama song in Kannada makes it even closer to my heart, just because of the pure, unfiltered love I always receive from my Kannadiga listeners. Working with AR Rahman sir is a joy I can barely put into words. His compositions have a structure that is so unique, it just amazes you every single time.”
The singer also spoke about his association with Ranbir Kapoor and director Nitesh Tiwari. Armaan had previously worked with them on the soundtrack of Chillar Party in 2011, when he was a teenager. Returning to collaborate with them for a project on the scale of Ramayana has brought back memories of his earlier work.
“It is also incredibly special to sing for Ranbir Kapoor and be associated with such an insane cast and technical crew. What makes this even more nostalgic is that the last time I collaborated with both the director and Ranbir was as teenager on Chillar Party soundtrack back in 2011. To reunite for a project of this scale today feels like a beautiful full circle moment,” he added.
With Mangala Sangama, Armaan continues to explore music across languages, connecting with listeners from different parts of the country. His association with Ramayana brings together his Kannada musical journey, his admiration for AR Rahman’s compositions and his earlier collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor and Nitesh Tiwari.
