Mardaani 3 had a fair Monday as collections came down to Rs. 2.40 crores. After a start of Rs. 4 crores and a weekend of Rs. 17.25 crores, the film needed to have numbers as close as possible to Friday, so that it could have a shot at Rs. 45 crores+ lifetime. That would have ensured that it lands in the same range as Mardaani 2 lifetime of Rs. 47.57 crores.
However, with the collections coming to these levels, at the very least it would be required that they stay on to be in the same range right through the weekdays and don’t go below Rs. 2 crores mark. That will help build its case to go past Mardaani lifetime of Rs. 35.82 crores.
Just for comparison, Mardaani had collected Rs. 2.43 crores on Monday whereas Mardaani 2 was even better at Rs. 2.85 crores. With Mardaani 3 standing at Rs. 2.40 crores, the trending is weaker than Mardaani 2. That shows how theatrical business is getting more and more challenging even for franchise affairs. However, the good part is that this is the kind of film which has an audience on OTT and hence from recovery standpoint it’s safe. That said, theatrical business has its own charm and with a good release that Mardaani 3 has seen, it would certainly be aiming to go much beyond Rs. 19.65 crores that it has collected so far.
