The Shree Narayan Singh directed film Toilet – Ek Prem Katha starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar released on August 11 and brought cheer in the industry that was starved of a hit film. It was loved so much by the audiences that it did very well and amassed Rs. 96.05 cr in its first week itself. In week two, it slipped down a bit and earned Rs. 28.35 cr. In week three, the collections came down more at Rs. 7.2 crore.
In its fourth week, Toilet – Ek Prem Katha faced competition from the action biggie Baadshaho and the critically acclaimed Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. Yet, it managed to collect Rs. 2 cr. Hence, the total four week collection of the film stands at Rs. 133.60 cr. It has hence crossed the collections of Rowdy Rathore that stood at Rs. 133.25 cr. Toilet – Ek Prem Katha is hence Akshay Kumar’s highest grosser ever.
