The Ranveer Singh – Vaani Kapoor starrer Befikre that marks the return of Aditya Chopra to direction after a gap of eight years released yesterday. Though the film which received mixed reviews from the critics, it has been well received by the Indian audience.

Collecting Rs. 10.36 cr, Befikre becomes the tenth highest opening day grosser of 2016. The film does not surpass previous releases like Sultan that collected Rs. 36.54 cr, M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story that collected Rs. 21.3 cr, Fan that collected Rs. 19.2 cr, Housefull 3 that collected Rs. 15.21 cr, Rustom that collected Rs. 14.11 cr, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil that collected Rs. 13.3 cr, Airlift that collected Rs. 12.35 cr, Baaghi that collected Rs. 11.94 cr and Dishoom that collected Rs. 11.05 cr.
However, Befikre does manage to surpass the collections of other releases like Shivaay that collected Rs. 10.24 cr, Udta Punjab that collected Rs. 10.05 cr, Mohenjo Daro that collected Rs. 8.87 cr and even Dear Zindagi that collected Rs. 8.75 cr.
