Jugnuma – where fairy tales meet fear.
From the award-winning filmmaker Raam Reddy comes a magical realist tale that has already made history as the first Indian film to win Best Film in the Constellation Features Competition at the Leeds International Film Festival 2024
Set in the late 1980s Himalayas, Jugnuma follows Dev (Manoj Bajpayee), an orchard owner facing the eerie mystery of trees burning overnight. His search for answers uncovers buried family truths and folklore.
Shot entirely on film, Raam Reddy’s magical realist tale blends myth, dream, and reality into a timeless, poetic journey. The film premiered at Berlin, won Best Film at Leeds 2024, and received the Special Jury Prize at MAMI
Jugnuma releases in theatres across India on September 12, 2025.
