Recently the actress took to Instagram and shared a video where she reveals how she saves money on electricity bills. The video starts off with a man questioning her in Punjabi why her electricity bill was only Rs. 5000 and his was Rs. 35,000. She examines the bill before responding to his query by bopping along to the tune of ‘Batiyan Bujhai Rakhdi Ve’. The song mentions turning out the lights. Sharing the video on Instagram Reels, Vidya captioned, “Batiyan bhujhai rakhdi.”

Soon after the video was shared, industry friends and fans showered their love in the comments section. Actor Shefali Shah commented, “You are tooooooo cute.” Celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani dropped a heart emoticon in the comments section.

Reacting to the video, a user commented, “Hahahahaha. Sooooo true! Everytime my electricity bill is high, I want to switch off all the lights and fans and sit,” while another fan wrote, “Funniest and true video on internet.”

On the professional front, Vidya has carved a niche for herself in women-centric films and achieved success. Some of these movies include, The Dirty Picture, Kahaani, Tumhari Sulu, Shakuntala Devi, Sherni, etc. She was last seen as a TV journalist in the Amazon Prime Video film Jalsa, featuring alongside Shefali Shah, Rohini Hattangadi, Manav Kaul and others. She will now be seen in Neeyat and another untitled movie directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta.
