Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films’ Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is all set to hit theatres tomorrow on February 9. Directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, the movie stars a fresh pair of Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. This is yet another film from the production house that serves an out-of-the-box subject that falls in a family-friendly zone.

In fact, this is what the production house has been doing so over the last several years. This is seen the most in their horror-comedy universe with films like Stree and Bhediya. Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the lead, Stree was a film about a dreaded ghost who targets men from a town. Despite such a subject, the movie was crafted and narrated in such a way that it was fit to see with the entire family. This ensured its box office success as well.

Bhediya is also another major example. Directed by Amar Kaushik, who also helmed Stree, the movie was about a young man, played by Varun Dhawan, who gets bitten by a werewolf which ensures that he becomes one every night and creates havoc. On paper, this sounds like a serious subject. However, Bhediya in totality was a film that was not only entertaining and funny but also family-oriented.

Interestingly, Mahesh Bhatt’s 1992 film Junoon was about a man, played by Rahul Roy, transforming into a tiger at night. But that film was too serious and not a family entertainer. Bhediya, despite showcasing a similar subject, was the opposite in terms of treatment.

The banner’s upcoming flick Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya has an out-of-the-box subject about a man (Shahid Kapoor) falling in love with a beautiful girl (Kriti Sanon) only to discover that she isn’t a human being but a robot. Hence, it’s a love story between a human and a robot. Despite the highly sci-fi nature of the subject, the trailer of the film gives a major indication that it’s a family entertainer with a high dose of humour.

Similarly, the banner has made quite a few other films like Mimi, Luka Chuppi, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, Bala, among others that shows their commitment for wholesome family entertainment through novel subjects.
