Last month we saw Hollywood release THE JUNGLE BOOK ruling the roost at the box office dominating over the other Bollywood biggies. This week we see the release of yet another big ticket Hollywood film CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (CACW) that is expected to fare similarly well.
Reports coming in state that CACW has opened on a high note with occupancy rate during morning shows being pegged at 65-70%. On the other hand, the Bollywood releases ONE NIGHT STAND and TRAFFIC that appeal to the smaller segment of the audiences has opened on a slower note with occupancy rates between 7-10%. However, another Hindi release 1920 LONDON has taken off to a decent start with 30% occupancy rate.
On the whole, while CACW is expected to dominate over the weekend, 1920 LONDON along with the other Hindi releases will pick up over evening and night shows. At the same time, each of the releases will face competition from the Punjabi release ZORAWAR that features Yo Yo Honey Singh with business taking a slight yet visible hit in the territories of Punjab and Haryana.
