Super 30 stayed on to be 'super' on its second Saturday as Rs. 8.53 crores came in. The collections jumped hugely over second Friday [Rs. 4.51 crores] and that too when The Lion King is doing good too. Amongst the Hindi films in the running though, the Hrithik Roshan starrer is seeing the best response of the lot and is collecting almost triple of all of them combined together.
The Sajid Nadiadwala production has now moved up to Rs. 88.90 crores and would be at least Rs. 98 crores before the weekend is through. Of course, it would have been a sweet spot for the film had it actually entered the Rs 100 Crore Club in 10 days flat. While one waits to see if that indeed turns out to be the case, even if that won't happen on Sunday then the feat would certainly be accomplished on Monday.
The film has been seeing tax-free status for itself in number of states already [Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh]. While there would be some sort of benefit for sure, a bigger consistency in numbers can well be expected if other major territories begin to follow suit as well. This is the week in which maximum footfalls are expected since from next week on there would anyways be quite some competition. Hence, if a decision around tax-free has to be taken by other states, it has to be now.
