The Kabir Khan directed film Tubelight hit screens on Friday. After opening on a decent note, the film starring Salman Khan that hit a total of 5550 screens worldwide has been doing slow but steady business. After collecting Rs. 64.77 cr on its opening weekend, the collections of Tubelight were expected to see an increase on the first Monday, considering the fact that it was a holiday on account of Eid. However, the business of the film saw a small drop in collections from Sunday to Monday with collections being pegged at Rs. 19.09 cr.
In this box office analysis, we take a look at the overall collections of Tubelight so far while comparing the same to the lifetime collections of previously released film in 2017. Collecting Rs. 83.86 cr, Salman Khan’s Tubelight ranks as the sixth highest grosser of 2017 so far. Though the collections of the film does not surpass the collections of previous releases like Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion that collected Rs. 510.18 cr, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees that collected Rs. 137.51 cr, Jolly LLB 2 that collected Rs. 117 cr, Badrinath Ki Dulhania that collected Rs. 116.68 cr and Kaabil that collected Rs. 103.84 cr, it does manage to out beat other films like Hindi Medium that collected Rs. 68.76 cr and Half Girlfriend that collected Rs. 60.28 cr.
However, since Tubelight still continues to run, expectations are that the film will see growth in business over the coming couple of days.
