Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion, which was the second part in the epic Baahubali saga, has literally conquered the box office. After opening on a high note, the film fast went on to become one of the highest grossing films ever. In fact ever since its release Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion, which has been one of the most anticipated and awaited sequels to release in the recent past, has had a thrilling run at the box office globally managing to overpower even the newer releases that have hot screens.
But away from the box office records and benchmarks that Baahubali 2 has been setting, we at Bollywood Hungama decided to take a more critical view in terms of the film’s profitability for Karan Johar. Interestingly, Karan Johar’s production house Dharma Productions had acquired the rights of the Hindi version of the film to distribute across India, on approx. 10% commission basis, which is the industry norm. Now given the fact that the Hindi version of the film has already collected approximately Rs. 478.3 cr., with estimates predicting that the Hindi version of Baahubali 2 will eventually earn around 500 cr, the distributor’s share is likely to be approximately Rs. 220 to Rs. 230 crores.
However, with the industry norm commission based structure, Dharma Productions stands to earn approx. Rs. 22 to 25 cr. on the distribution of the Hindi dubbed version
