The David Dhawan directed film Judwaa 2 starring Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandezand Taapsee Pannu released a couple of weeks ago. The film which was a remake of the Salman Khan starrer Judwaa was well received by the audience and critics alike. After taking the box office by storm on its opening day the film witnessed good growth over its opening weekend managing to cross the Rs. 50 cr. mark within the domestic market in just 3 days.
Since then Judwaa 2 has literally been unstoppable at the box office, in fact on its second weekend in theatres as well, despite the competition from newer releases Judwaa 2 that had released across 3500+ screens continued to hold the audiences’ attention performing on a much better note than other release. In the overseas market as well Judwaa 2 has been on a roll capturing key overseas territories the film has been raking in the moolah for its makers.
Now after collecting Rs. 175.87 cr. gross within the domestic market and another Rs. 40.04 cr. from the overseas markets Judwaa 2 has managed to blow past the Rs. 215 cr. mark at the worldwide box office. The movie is now the second highest worldwide grosser after Raees [Rs. 281.44 cr.]
