The movie is ok - I mean for the common person. But it is not better than 7 Khoon Maaf. My choice still remains Priyanka's 7 Khoon. Tanu Weds Manu belongs wholely to Kangana who outshines in this venture.

There are simple love stories, there are strange love stories, and then there are love stories which ends on a sad note(like TERE NAAM).. but Tanu Weds Manu is the forth kind, which I believe has been presented in a very different way our bollywood films have been projected. A simple NRI(read Madhavan) returns to India, to find out that he is supposed to meet a girl(read Kangna) for marriage, the moment he lands. He sees her for the first & falls in love with her only to find out that she is not at all interested in him and already have a boyfriend with whom she is gonna marry soon. Then how will she falls for him and eventually get married.. well that’s the crux of the story. The director, Anand L Rai, did a brillient job by casting Madhavan in a simple NRI guy, because he plays his part with perfection, Kangna did a fastastic job as this was her first full fledge comedy role after not so happening NO PROBLEM, she played a bindaas Kanpur girl who has studied in DU, who smokes, drinks, and abuses like a tapori, and had many boyfiends in the past and have no qualms in showing her bf’s surname’s tattoo on her chest, that’s Kangna for you. Deepak Dobriyal(of Omkara fame) has the best one liners in the movie, and he will surely be nominated for the best comdian award this year. Other character artist were just brillient and natural, you will feel like as if you were actually a part of a marriage function. But every good film comes with some hiccupes in the storyline, the first half is pacy and brings lot of good moments and memorable, but the second half is a bit boring for 15-20 mintues but then picks up and moves the story forward. Cinematography is excellent and captures the city of Kanpur and Lukhnow brillently, the small city charm, those narrow streets… and all. Songs are fine, and looks good while in the narrration of the movie. I want to point out a particular scene where Madhwan(Manu) tells Deepak(pappy) that Kangna(Tanu) has asked him to call-off the wedding, is just hillarious. I would definitely recommand this movie to those who loves watching wedding based, feel good films, and a kind of family dramas where you don’t need to use your rumaals.

Movies are all bout fun,rite.To laugh your hearts out,live the moment,maybe learn a little about Indian values & traditions too & wouldn't it be a delight if it deals with the moment which comes in every one's life & that too with so much thoughts,plannings & sacrifices..Marriages :) Now 'Tanu Weds Manu' is not the best movie on marriages,it isn't something which we haven't ever seen,or sometime which would change the whole concept of love stories & to be very true their are moments post interval when the storyline gets a lil cliche & boring too though it soon comes back to the track with a decent climax. Whatever sets TWM apart from all of these is the simplicity in which the story of 'Mannu' & 'Tanuja' is portrayed,some strong performances from the lead pair & music which definitely is creating waves all around.Madhavan has given a performance which is definitely going to be praised & remembered for a very long time.Kangna is b'ful,unpredictable & believe me,try as hard you may,you won't be able to hate her. Now Manu is an Nri who has come back to India & his family as expected wants him to tie the knot this time.Cut to Kanpur where we are introduced to Kangna & what follows is a sweet,simple & an innocent tale of love,marriages & a journey of self realization & exploration.The movie is shot mostly in Kanpur,Lucknow,Delhi & Kapurthala. Kangna looks indeed b’ful & does full justice to her role.All in all a fun filled,sweet,indeed very sweet tale of love,marriages & the notion that “Marriages are made in Heaven” Loooooved it Watch it for Madhavan,for the shweetest unconventional new couple in town & watch it for the feel of marriages,shaadi,dhol-bhangra & ‘Saadi Gali’.We all love movies on shaadi,baarat & simple love stories.Hai naa !!! You won't like to miss this one.Get ready to fall in looooove once again.The most promising pair of the year is all set to tie the knot@25th Feb..Don't miss this one even if you a World Cup addict. I Suppose After Jab We Met in 2007, This is the movie which might catch the fancy of movie lovers. A LOVELY and SWEET movie. The 1st half of the movie is excellent whereas the 2nd half tends to lose some sheen but still leaves mark. The music has been used smartly and the performances are just SIMPLE SUPERB.

Guys Tannu weds Mannu is a light hearted rom-com flick which u can enjoy with ur family.It has some down moments and some very top standard .The movie is all over nice but not too good.There is nothing fresh but still some scenes can grab ur attention .The director “Aanand Rai” who directed “Thoda Life Thoda Magic” and “strangers” comes with his new flick.Performances are the top notch part of the movie with its soundtrack,the songs like “Saadi Gali” and “Jugni” are so groovy that gives u a feeling to dance and track like “Yun Hi” is really fantastic and memorable for me,sung by ‘Mohit Chouhan’.The Screenplay which is always the backbone of a movie is good but not awesome to grab the audience.Cinematography is worthy to watch.R. Madhvan and Kangana done a great job with this movie and best for me is a Jimmy Shergil,he is in guest appereance nd he is too good.Dialogues are also one of the best part of the movie. The movie is stretched in many parts but still it has some pop up moments,it has great storyline but less messed up climax would have worked wonders for the film. On the whole,Tannu weds mannu is a light family entertainment movie,if u love simple nd uncomplicated flicks than it is going to tug ur hearts.So go nd watch it.Its a wonderful mismatch!!!!!!!!
