2.5 Good

The movie starts with exuberant feeling. It starts of well and then it dips a little bit here and there but keeps your interest and storyline intact. Nice locations and very good cinematography. Imtiaz's movies have something different in his love stories. This movie also has all those ingredients such as openness, restraint, joyousness, complexness, struggle to discover one's insight and a little darkness. People who like love stories with slightly different flavor than regular Hindi romantic movies will definitely like it. You can find some glimpses of jab we met (gender reverse), cocktail, 3-idiots, YJHD ( Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani ) and a little bit of Rockstar. Movie has international appeal to it. It definitely looks like a fusion of Indian and French cinema of some kind in its way of direction and storytelling. All in all you must watch it once. You will like it if you are fond of complicated love stories and superb performance of lead actors.

Performance wise Ranbir Kapoor gave his one of the best act. Deepika does what she does the best. She is marvelous in her role of Tara and complimented Ranbir very well. You may find the portrayal of the characters of Ved and Tara by Ranbir and Deepika respectively have very near resemblance with their real self. Piyush Mishra was great in his cameo. Music was good but not great, considering it was from the maestro A.R.Rahman himself. Heer to badi sad hai is good. Agar Tum sath ho sung by Alka Yagnik is the best song of the album which comes at a perfect time and depicts the flow of the story. Its really melodious and stays with you for quite a time.
