?Tamasha? is a brilliant film. Very unpretentious in the treatment; it transcends you to a different world. You can see the characters mirroring you in bits. You feel exposed when the characters portray how you behaved in a similar situation in your life. ?#?ImtiazAli? never ceases to amaze me. This is his best work so far without a doubt. The narrative style is very unique and commendable. Cinematography deserves a special mention. The camera angles are creative so that you focus on exactly what is supposed to be seen. It's a heady combination of riveting screenplay, astounding direction, outstanding performances (?#?RanbirKapoor? #?DeepikaPadukone?), engaging music (?#?ARRahman?)and picturesque locations. Ranbir Kapoor has truly owned this movie by his performance. Deepika however has been missing in few parts in the second half of the movie. Imtiaz could have had few more scenes there to show her development as her comeback feels bit sudden. Nevertheless, detailing in sets, attires, lighting, down to body language and portrayal of each character is spellbinding. A must watch.

After watching Shandaar, people make many trolls that this is shandaar tamasha and TAMASHA WILL SHANDAAR.! AND YES. TAmasha is shandaar. What an excellent movie from my one of d favorite director Imtiyaz Ali and yes RANBIR. Ved as well as Don, both were fantastic.( he is not in double roll). Starting was also good but i like the climax part too much. Loactions of France was pretty much better. The movie's slogan which was that "why always the same story"- is proved here completely. Many of us face problems about their carrier. Want to become some but becomes some due to parents. Here, ved's character is also this type and then it overcomes it. How- it will explain the movie very well, not my review.!!! Worth watching film. And yes, deepika was stunning too. By look nd by acting. Both.

Like all Imtiaz Ali movies, Tamasha has a journey at its heart, a journey in which character evolves and re-discovers himself. Ranbir plays the character of Ved, a person who is spending a monotonous corporate life and excels at telling stories. The movie is about his self-discovery and how he accomplishes what he always wanted to accomplish deep inside his heart. Tara, the character played by Deepika acts as his inspiration and helps him to step up in life, rediscover and redefine himself. She plays a pivotal role in the movie. Amidst all this, there is a beautiful love story. Ranbir's acting is classy. Deepika also plays her role brilliantly. Her looks are an icing on the cake. She looks beautiful. The music and the songs in the movie fit in the situation perfectly, in fact, the songs carries the story forward instead of being just a musical treat. All in all it's a good Imtiaz Ali Film.

Tamasha, Imtiaz Ali's film brings Bollywood's one of the favourite pair Deepika and Ranbir on…
Tamasha, Imtiaz Ali's film brings Bollywood's one of the favourite pair Deepika and Ranbir on screen. Tamasha certainly differs from his earlier films in spite of love being the central theme. Rather, he experiments with a different style of storytelling through Tamasha. Tamasha means spectacle. I loved the plot of the film, which focuses or reminds us that most of the time, we are mere spectators in our lives. We choose a gallery, where we can sit comfortably and just watch things happening in and around us. We don't even decide for ourselves. When we don't design our choices in our lives, somebody else makes choices for us. And if this is the case, do we enjoy these choices made by somebody on our behalf. Probably not. We just live our lives, fall prey to the monotonous way of living. We ignore the real 'us' and just compromise with the happenings of our lives. We ourselves don't recognize the real self and just pull through life by engaging in mundane activities and appear not to be bothered as well. Imtiaz Ali's film Tamasha tells us – "Your most personal thought is your life's biggest Tamasha". The concept is so nice, but the film falters at the execution level. Two terrific actors on screen could have set the stage on fire, but it doesn't happen so. Even the sequence where lot of fun elements could have been added was a bit dry. And the sequence, where emotions could have played a major role in getting the audience connected was underplayed. But certainly, this film can't be written off, watch it for the beautiful philosophy, which Tamasha brings to us and of course for its lead pair, Deepika and Ranbir. The film begins with a troupe performing Tamasha on stage. The very initial scene itself makes the whole theme of the film very clear. The story telling happens through this Tamasha. Ved as a kid in Shimla is extremely fond of stories. He would collect money, even steal money at times to pay a storyteller (Piyush Mishra) who would tell him stories of Ramayana, Laila Majnu, Heer Ranjha, Romeo Juliet etc. The interesting aspect of Piyush' storytelling was that he used to say that every story was the same. Ved used to passionately listen to the stories. As far as the studies are concerned, he is not very fond of many subjects especially Mathematics. But when he grows up, he yields to his father's pressure to pursue engineering. The adult Ved's story begins in an exotic island – Corsica in France, where he happens to meet Tara (Deepika Padukone), who had lost her passport and some other belongings. Both of them hit it off at the very first instance. Ved wanted their story to be different from the regular ones, so they decide that they would not even reveal their real names, and tell any truth to each other. They only lie about themselves, Ved becomes Don and Tara becomes Mona Darling. They also had set the norm that they would never meet each other once they leave Corsica. But as expected, love blooms, though both of them don't accept that. Tara returns to her home at Kolkata and joins her father's business. Ved goes to Delhi and joins a regular corporate job. She does feel Ved's absence around, but she is not being shown as a depressed girl, rather she is shown actively engaged in work. Although the scene is not very clear, but it shows her being true to her emotions by breaking off with her boyfriend or fiancée. The screenplay covers a period of four years through a song. Tara lands up in Delhi for an assignment. 'Social' of Hauz Khas Village is the spot where she keeps coming, certainly with the hope of meeting Ved. And when she meets Ved, does she find the same Ved whom she met in Corsica. Though, they meet almost everyday, Tara is disillusioned with this Ved. She feels that the Ved who was always there with her since her return from Corsica was far different from this Ved. Tara was facing problem to accept this Ved who had succumbed to a conventional way of leading life, routine job. Tara wanted to highlight the point that Ved had the potential to do much beyond the routine things in his life. But Ved had a problem in accepting the external dimension of his 'self' from Tara. What happens thereafter? How does Ved meets his real 'self'? How does Ved take charge of his life? How does he define his own internal dimension of 'self'? Does he give life to the storyteller within him? How does he move out of the shackles of the family / social expectations of being an engineer, pursuing a corporate job, being part of the rat race? How does Tara's love play a role in bringing the real Ved out? Does Ved ever feel liberated in life? If the story started in Corsica, and paths of the lead pair crossed at Delhi, where does the story reaches at the climax? Watch the film to get these answers. Tamasha talks about one of the most intriguing philosophy of life that we as human beings tend to be mere spectators in our lives, allow others to design choices for us, stop following our own dreams and find ourselves in the shackles of the societal norms of following conventional rules. We may not be ready to explore our true potential, but someone who loves us, could take us to a great journey of self-optimization. Though, Tamasha, the spectacle, is not a debacle; I sincerely wished that such a beautiful philosophy could have been executed in a much better manner through a gripping screenplay.

The movie starts with exuberant feeling. It starts of well and then it dips a little bit here and there but keeps your interest and storyline intact. Nice locations and very good cinematography. Imtiaz's movies have something different in his love stories. This movie also has all those ingredients such as openness, restraint, joyousness, complexness, struggle to discover one's insight and a little darkness. People who like love stories with slightly different flavor than regular Hindi romantic movies will definitely like it. You can find some glimpses of jab we met (gender reverse), cocktail, 3-idiots, YJHD ( Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani ) and a little bit of Rockstar. Movie has international appeal to it. It definitely looks like a fusion of Indian and French cinema of some kind in its way of direction and storytelling. All in all you must watch it once. You will like it if you are fond of complicated love stories and superb performance of lead actors. Performance wise Ranbir Kapoor gave his one of the best act. Deepika does what she does the best. She is marvelous in her role of Tara and complimented Ranbir very well. You may find the portrayal of the characters of Ved and Tara by Ranbir and Deepika respectively have very near resemblance with their real self. Piyush Mishra was great in his cameo. Music was good but not great, considering it was from the maestro A.R.Rahman himself. Heer to badi sad hai is good. Agar Tum sath ho sung by Alka Yagnik is the best song of the album which comes at a perfect time and depicts the flow of the story. Its really melodious and stays with you for quite a time.

Well the actual story starts post-interval. Entire first half gives you no damn clue where does the plot leads to? Imtiaz Ali is known for his experimental kind of movies and innovative ways of story-telling which he did brilliantly in his past films like Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal, Rockstar

"Tamasha" a Imtiaz Ali's directorial.Everyone had great expectations from the film as it is directed by Ali and most importantly there were expectations from Ranbir as his career has hit a all time low. Tamasha is totally a out of the box love story. It's not a regular clichéd' story. It's has a unique story telling and a very different approach due to which it may seem difficult to go with the masses.Ali has a unique capability of picking up things in a very different way and He did it this time too. Ranbir as Ved, a bipolar (Manic Depressed) which is total new and refreshing topic (for a bollywood film) gave on, one his career's best performance. He proved his caliber and showed what he's capable of as an Actor. He pulled off Ved beautifully. On the other hand Deepika too, did an excellent job. She too, pulled off her part very well. But her on screen time was very less as compared to Ranbir. The locations are very pleasing as they usually are in a Ali's directorial. The cinematography and direction is very good. And the music by A.R Rahman is mesmerizing. What more, Can we expect from him?. "Safarnama" by lucky ali and "Tum Saath Ho" by Arijit

Summary: Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha is a fantastic movie and RK's acting is brilliant!! Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha is a fabulous movie. Tamasha has one of the best performances by Ranbir Kapoor. The film is brilliantly scripted too. RK is BRILLIANT in Tamasha: a very natural, talented and classy actor!! RK rules the movie all along. RK is a great choice for the movie. It seems as if Tamasha script is written fabulously for RK. Many say RK-DP chemistry is great but somehow in all DP's movies, it's the lead actor that contributes to the film's success, be it SRK, IK, AB or RK. DP's acting in Tamasha could have been better, there is room for improvement as audience could easily anticipate DP's monotonous expressions that lack variety. Overall, still a great performance by DP if not the best. Music by Rahman is adorable. Corsica is a beautiful location where the movie was taken. Overall, it's one of the very well-directed movies of the year. Imtiaz Ali's movies are unique and he has done a brilliant experiment with Tamasha.

Awesome true love story..I saw myself in many of the scenes ..the way Imtiaz has asked everyone to discover themselves in life was simply superb..at many instants in the movie I just wanted to stand and clap so loud and whistle to express how hard I loved that scene ..the locations were awesome and the screenplay also was quite different from routine movies ..there's a scene at last where Ranbir sits and narrates a story with his family , and at that scene I simply fell in love with the movie ..Deepika, my favorite, has once again rocked with her performance...finally Ranbir and Deepika stole the screen with their superb acting , Imtiazali has stolen my vision of love and has shown how my future should be...Tamasha on the whole has Stolen My Heart

TAMASHA – It's a traditional form of theatre, an art of storytelling with singing and dancing, performed by travelling theatre groups. The movie is exactly that – A STORY, so different that there will be very few rooting for it. If you're expecting a Jab We Met Part II, don't even bother buying tickets for this one. If you loved Highway and the writer director who makes you think, go for it – Imtiaz Ali is real good. It's a simple story of boy meets girl with a twist and such a believable take on life in general, life as most of us know and lead. Ranbir Kapoor as Ved is unbelievably seasoned. Am not a very big fan of Rockstar but here he is in so many shades that you see what genes can do to a man!! (Ok Abhishek Bachchan is yet to get there.) Deepika Padukone has been in another league altogether since Piku. There was a time when you saw the intensity portrayed by actors like Shabana Azmi or Naseeruddin Shah and you thought who'll equal them ever? There is a scene in a Delhi Café' where the lead pair almost match them! Shot in Corsica, Kolkata, Delhi, Tokyo the cities are characters in the film. The opening sequence is 17 min long, if you survive that you'll not even want popcorn in the rest of the movie. There will come a juncture where you want to shout out 'Wake up man', not to Ved but to your own self. There are shades of Last Tango in Paris, 3 Idiots, Rocket Singh Salesman of The Year and few others but it'll be an insult to say this movie was 'inspired'. Piyush Mishra talks in poetry and is top notch as the story teller. Vivek Mushran is so into the character that you forget the sweet innocent lad of Saudagar. Aki Narula does a good job dress designing and AR Rahman's music adds to the chutzpah. Go watch it but you're likely to be labelled highbrow.

Superb direction, superb movie, superb acting and yes Imtiaz Ali did it again. Not a Romeo Juliet movie like love, separating and then happy ending. It is different from routine love stories. A powerful message of an ordinary human with a powerful expression of unorthodox. Coming to cinematography beautiful scenic locations with awesome camera work.Literally an unconventional experiment to be watched for its writing
