I THINK TARAN ADARSH HAS MADE IT HIS HABIT TO PRAISE EVERY SRK MOVIE EVEN IF IT IS NOT WORTH A PENNY,I THINK HE HAS BEEN REALLY UNFAIR IN GIVING SAAWARIYA 1.5 STAR RATING,THE MOVIE DESERVES ATLEAST 3 STAR RATING.BOTH THE NEWCOMERS LOOKED GOOD AS A COUPLE AND WERE SWEET.AS FAR AS STORY IS CONCERNED I THINK IT WAS A BIT WEAK BUT I WONT BLAME MR. BHANSALI FOR IT AS HE HAD TAKEN INSPIRATION FROM A SHORT STORY AND U CANT TINKER WITH IT TOO MUCH.MUSIC,SETS ARE JUST SUPERB AND POSITIVE POINT FOR THE MOVIE.IN THE END I WOULD SAY IF TARAN THINKS OSO IS A 4 STAR MOVIE THAN SAAWARIYA IS DEFINATELY 5 STAR.

SAAWARIYA is all style, no substance. When a director of the calibre of SLB attempts a love story, you expect to experience the various emotions that you generally associate with romance. Sadly, the emotions you experience while watching SAAWARIYA is sorrow and after the screening, anguish.With splendid backers like Hollywood giant Columbia/Sony and a dream cast, Bhansali falters big time in SAAWARIYA. It doesn't give you the feeling that you're watching an SLB film or a film of epic proportions. Instead, you constantly feel that you're watching a 2-hour play. This time, hum dil nahin de chuke sanam! SAAWARIYA is about two young star-crossed lovers. A musician, Raj [Ranbir Kapoor], is certain that he has found his ultimate dream when he arrives at a picturesque town. However, destiny paints a different picture for Raj. One silent night, he spots a mysterious girl draped in black, standing alone at a bridge.This chance encounter introduces him to Sakina [Sonam Kapoor], a shy and quiet girl, who continues to intrigue him. Thus follows the beginning of a new friendship, where Raj, with his most charming ways and an undying spirit, tries to win Sakina's heart.Raj is unable to accept her haunting past and their friendship pulls him into a whirlwind of desire, madness and romance.SAAWARIYA suffers because of its writing mainly. Let's unravel the points that bother the viewer no end…Besides, the conversation between the lead pair fails to involve you. Sure, a few sequences are filmed brilliantly, but the impact the film ought to create in totality is missing. It gets verbose and boring after a point. Monty's music is another sore point. Sure, a few songs are well tuned, but the everlasting melody, associated with SLB's films, is missing. You hear them, savour them that moment, but forget all about them once the movie concludes. Now to the dream launches! Ranbir Kapoor is supremely talented, no two opinions on that. Yes, he looks handsome, but what you carry home is the sincerity in his performance. If that's the [high] level of performance in his debut film, this lad will only make the Kapoor clan proud in years to come. It's a 10 on 10 for this debutante! Sonam Kapoor is an average actor. However, her role doesn't give her the opportunity to display histrionics. She looks gorgeous at places, but plain ordinary at times.Age has started showing on Salman Khan's face. He looks like an old, mature man in this film. The boyish looks have gone! As for his role, he is completely wasted in this hardly-10-minute appearance. Rani Mukerji is first-rate. Zohra Segal is superb, while Begum Para is hardly there. On the whole, SAAWARIYA lacks soul. It's SLB's weakest film to date, in terms of writing.disappointing -- in terms of content and in terms of business as well!

OKay movie. I expected more. Could of done better SLB. Good art and stlye. Acting was okay.

This movie lacked far behind from the story point of view,it seemed as if the movie was dragging accross the whole 2 1/2 hrs.But hats off to Ranbir Kapoor,he was superb,it was due to him which kept me interseted in the movie.Superb performance from Ranbir.Rani Mukherjee was again excellent.As for Sonam Kapoor,she was just ok,any girl would have fittedinto this role,but Ranbir did full justice to his character.He is a star in the making.

if you ever believed in dreams,if you ever believed in love then dont think once just go for it,its like a sweet innocent love ryhme just out from heart,it's sheer class nothing else. too good.slb you rock again.ranbir is the next big thing(conditions apply--proper utilization) sonam is ok ,zohra is brilliant and rani is mindblowing.i loved it.

If you dont have guts to stay modest please stop writing critics. I think taran you should join atleast WHISTLING WOODS INTERNATIONAL, and for what I think you know it better. Sawariya is a good film like a great poetry. Its much of art in the film. All SLB movies will have some form of art you need to understand. Ranvir looks great and seems capable of taking RK legacy ahead. In future if you see movies launched under RK banner, I wont be surprised. After Hrithik, Ranbir is next to revealation, woud love to watch both in the same film. Sonam is good, superb from new comer. In Sawariya not much scope for her. Looks great..Million dollar smile. She is having capability, needed to get polished. Rani...she always enact her part with great ease and carry it well. Salman...Taran you said aging shows on Salman. Dear Taran look at SRK (although I am great fan of him) even aging shows not only on his face but also aroung his six abs...study it carefully. Salman in movie is having very limited scope, you can say as guest. He did justice to what he got. Overall if you like poetry, novel then you must watch this movie. If you like to see the movie with all Mithun and Govinda line of stuff go and watch OMO. And please dont say that OMO is film on the line of Manmohan Desai Films. OMO even does not match 20% of what Manmohan Desai Films.

Now to the point. saawariya speaks of class. No matter how big fan im of shahrukh, om shanti om was excellent but one cannot deny that saawariya was unbelievably good. It was magic on screen and its disappointing when reviewers like taran, ca be so biased towards one movie.please dont go by his review....he is biased. planet bollywood and bollywood world has postd true reviews of saawariya if you want to read.

Shah rukh is so desprate to copy and do the types of movies that the great Mr. Bachhan used to do, but some one should tell him that he may well have some hit movies (due to ass kissing and ass licking) of yash chopra and karan gay johar, he can never touch Mr. Bachhan.
