Each and every character in the movie is an ACTOR (I almost became fan of Ritesh Deshmukh And actor of the Kannada industry, Sudeep the actory who has played the role of son of Amitabh Bachchan.Ritesh Deshmukh has proved that apart from comedy roles he can do serious roles too.) … 100 out of 100 for direction, screenplay, dialogues, AND MORE THEN THAT 200 out of 100 For ACTING for not only Amitabh Bachchan but all the actors of the movie…..

Rann! An Engrossing Watch - When u see Amitabh Bachhan foldding his hands to do a namaste with stern expressions u would expect it to be a film to watch out.Well it surely is,Coz with rann u can see the Old Glimpses of RGV coming back into the limelight.As Rann is a story with which RGV exposes how the heavyweights in the media play Games to further their interests. Rann throws light on the politician-industrialist-media nexus and depicts how news channels are greedy for ratings, sensationalizing stories to grab eyeballs and all His efforts are justified by the Finesse with which Paresh rawal and mohnish behl Perform their roles.Surprisingly Amitabh bachhan barrig His long speech in the climax is playing almost an elongated special Appearance considering the fact the story has been publicised on his shoulders. ------------------------------------------------- Vijay(Amitabh) who plays Head of a media channel and is the most respected media personality in the country runs his channel on his 30 year old ideals and beleives media's job is to serve the nation contrary to his son Jai(played by Sudeep) beliefs who considers media as a money minting business governed by TRP's.but due to his Dad's ideals their channel is sinking.Sudeep, who i dont know why acts more like a drug addict in his mannerisms rather than head of a channel hates Mohnish Behl, who heads a rival Channel and shares the same belief as Jai. The story takes a turn when a corrupt politician, Mohan Pandey (Paresh Rawal), decides to use Vijay's channel to his advantage by using Vijay's son-in-law Navin (Rajat Kapoor) who wants to be the no.1 businessman with pandey's help and Viajy's Son Jai who is under debt and wants to save his sinking channel. Pandey aspires to be the Prime Minister and indulges in a vicious campaign against his political opponent Hooda. Reitesh Deshmukh plays a journalist who grew up watching Vijay and is a fan of his Idealogies now working in vijay's channel Senses the conspiracy of The pandey Clan and Sets on a mission to uncover the same. ------------------------------------------------- The film doesnt have one single actor instead it is a collective effort of many characters.Amit roy's cinematography is mostly great with amitabh's final speech being shown in different angles.Though i thought there were one to many closeups in the film,u could not help but notice Big B's biting Lips and sudeep's constantly moving fingers. ------------------------------------------------ The story and writing is convincing except for some scenes where retesih is seen investigating the conspiracy and doesnt look convincing enough and the detailing of the sequence is also less. The Music of the film looks more spooky and horrifying rather than impactfull. ------------------------------------------------- Now,coming on to the acting part Paresh rawal sweeps across and is at his vicious best and is seen in a negetive role of 90's after some time.Monish behl is marvelously sauve and cunning and once again displays his acting credentials,Reitesh deshmukh displays that he can do all kind of roles with ease, Suchitra krishnamoorty is ok and Gul Panag doesnt have anything to do in the film while Neetu Chandra is taken just to up the Glam qoutient and keeps asking "whats wrong?". ---------------------------------------------- All In All,RANN is for those who enjoy serious cinema.
