While I haven't seen "Peepli" yet, I do take exception with Taran review that states that no parallels can be drawn in connection with "Peepli" and any other film.
He is inaccurate.
"Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani" also took jibs at the insanity of the media, as well as corrupt politicians who, in the movie, are hungry to exploit the plight of a common man, who's daughter had been raped by a man connected with a corrupt politician, to win votes. While the movie may not be as well crafted as "Peepli," there is borrowed connection. Nowadays, I dare say there is NO film that is completely original.
