Awesome. Every Song of Om Shanti Om is original & worth to listen. 1)The Album Starts with Ajab Si which is a melody song. I think it is the best melody songs after 80's. 2) Then next is Dard-E-Disco. I looks awesome with srk's six pack abs. It will grow amongst all sections of people. 3)Then next is Deewangi Deewangi. A song that will the one biggest hit of this era. An exciting song. I like it the most. 4) Then next is Main Agar Kahoon. like ajab iS also a melody songs. It remember us the memorable songs of 80's Mohd. Rafi. A fabulous song. 5) Then next is Jag Soona Soona Lage. Excellently sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Richa Sharma. It will sooth your memories to an excellent experience. 6) then next is Dhoom Taana. It is also an fabulous song. 7) then next is Dastaan-E-Om Shanti Om. I like it the most. My favourite song in the album. I will break all records. 8) Then next is the remixes. This are also fabulous. I think, this album will make records & will be the biggest musical hit of not only 2007 but also of this & former era.

There are not many music directors in Hindi Film Industry which have the capacity to give great surprises full of different sound tracks. To this list we can now easily add Vishal-Shekhar. Listed to the song Ajab Si and u will understand the magic which the Sultans of Beat (Vishal-Shekhar) have created. Superb!!!! and excellently sung by KK. All songs are extremely soulful and superb in melody, rythm, lyrics and singing. Moreover, the quality of remixes is like a cherry on the top of a delicious cake. Hindi Film industry is extremely lucky to have facing and era where four music directors Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Himesh, Pritam and Vishal-Shekhar are going in full form since last five years or so.

This is one of the best albums this year. Probably, Vishal - Shekhar are going to get their due blockbuster this year (Ta Ra Rum Pum & Cash were not as big hits as were their earlier Dus or Bluff Master). Coming back to the album. I feel Vishal - Shekhar won the battle in the first half of the album only. The first five tracks - Ajab Si (I don't know, why indiafm credits it as Aankhon Mein Teri;)), Dard-E-Disco, Deewangi Deewangi, Agar Main Kahoon & Jag Soona Soona Lage are all winning compositions. Hats off to K K to come up with another great number this year. Ajab Si is a must hear for all Indian film music fans. Vishal's lyrics are poetic yet simple. Sukhvinder Singh delivers big time in Dard-E-Disco. Another great performance after Chak De India. Deewangi Deewangi is a celebration track and the track with 40 odd stars. Should be promoted well. Udit Narayan seems to be in form after a while. Rahul Saxena is there in this song for some moments, and delivers a standard performance. Others are good. Agar Main Kahoon is one of the tracks, which anyone would wish to sing and become legendary. Sonu Nigam does very well to carry this number along with Shreya Ghosal. Shreya Ghosal is growing with every album. Nice tune, great lyrics, the song can be the next big love ballad. Jag Soona Soona Lage is a very good track, to be listened with lights shut off. Richa Sharma is a treat here, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is as steady as ever. I would expect the album to end here with a remix version of Dard-E-Disco. But, the album drags thereafter. The rest of the tracks include Dhoom Taana, Dastaan-E-OSO and remixes. Dhoom Taana is a real wastage as a musical effort. May be it is a situational number. The 70s feel in this song simply bores a big time. I would like to see how Farah Khan carries this number, as musically it is the most lukewarm track of the album. Dastan-E-OSO takes the route of Ek Hasina Thi from Karz (1980). It is a good number no doubt, but its length might be a put-off. It was not essential. The remixes are okay-ish and none of them can pull you to the dance floor if you didn't dance to the original ones. Specially, Dastan (The Dark Side Mix) is a totally unwanted disaster. The album ends with a <1 min musical theme of Om Shanti Om. It is pretty nice. Overall, I feel, this is a great album, but would have been better if the number of songs were cut short to 6-7. Maybe, I am an old-fashioned listener in this '1 remix for 1 song' format, but why dilute the effects of GREAT songs with dragging remixes?

What an album. It's definitely worth the wait. Vishal Shekar have had a rocking year, and this album pushes them to the front of my favorites list. 1. Ajab Si - I've loved this one since I saw the promo. It's sung beautifully by KK, and just so easy on the ears. We seem to have forgotten that Vishal and Shekar can make this kind of beautiful music, not just the western, upbeat type like Cash. Remember Jhankaar Beats? They can do soft and slow, and they showcase that talent here and in the next song. 2. Dard-E-Disco - Total guilty pleasure here. The lyrics are definitely not poetic (London, Paris, New York, LA, San Francisco), but what to do? How many words rhyme with Disco? I always have a big smile on my face while listening to this song. It's so much fun, and I can't wait to see the full song on the big screen. Sukhwinder sounds great, and though I could have done without the english, it doesn't ruin the song at all. 3. Main Agar Kahoon - Everyone I've talked to says this one is their favorite. I love it as well. Sonu's just amazing, and takes over the song. The music sounds very fairytale-ish. Like a music box. Shreya compliments Sonu very well, and again, V-S show just how versatile they are. 4. Deewangi Deewangi - The 30 guest appearance song. And it sounds like it'll be a blast on screen. Shaan and Udit coming together, and though the girls don't get much singing time, they sound great as well. I love the upbeat pace, though the english gets to me more here. I find it completely unnecessary. Other than that, it's a very good song, with a nice, dramatic ending. Makes me anxious to see what happens during the end. 5. Dhoom Taana - I love the old time feel to this song. Pyarelal's done a great job, bringing back the old era. I love the transitions in the song, and it's good so hear Abhijeet again. 6. Jag Soona Soona Lage - Another side of Vishal and Shekar. Such a completely different song than the rest of the songs on the album, and beautifully sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Richa Sharma. I usually don't like these kinds of songs, but this one is just wonderful. 7. Dastaan-E-Om Shanti Om - Such a powerful, dramatic song. Shaan puts so much energy into singing this, and he's brilliant. After reading the translation, you see the story unfolding, and it's very sad. I can't wait to see the picturization. I love remixes, so the rest of the songs sit well with me also. I love the medley mix, hearing all the songs together. Overall, this is a wonderful album by Vishal Shekar. I was disappointed when VS replaced Rehman, because I would have loved to see what he would come up with, but I'm very happy with Vishal and Shekar. They've come up with a perfect album for what is hopefully a great movie. 4.5/5 9/10
