This movie might not have been that bad, had there not been such great expectations. Yet the fact remains that there were great expectations and this movie utterly failed to meet them. When we all saw the trailers, we all probably expected a great, entertaining, romantic movie that we would feel good about when the last reel was done with. This was most definitely not the feeling I had.
The story itself was one of the biggest problems. it was just plain BORING. the direction as well was an issue. Imtiaz Ali did a great job with Jab We Met, but fell short with this movie. It was just too abrupt, random, and it did not flow at all. The two stories going on at the same time had no smooth transtitions whatsoever and were sometimes confusing. And perhaps one of the biggest problems of all was saif and deepika, who had almost no chemistry at all.
Deepika does look gorgeous and Saif pulls off the sardar quite well, and the story of young rishi kapoor is captivating at times, but this does not outweigh the negatives of this film, which disappoints me as this film could have been much, much better.
