Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 Movie Review Synopsis:
GINNY WEDSS SUNNY 2 is the story of a couple in distress. Shivansh Chaturvedi aka Sunny (Avinash Tiwary) lives in Rishikesh with his father Ram Sevak (Sudhir Pande), brother Parshuram aka Pintu (Vishwanath Chatterjee), sister-in-law Sarika (Nayani Dixit) and tenant-cum-friend Rudranarayan D'Costa (Rohit Chaudhary). Sunny is uneducated and, moreover, was framed in a fake case. As a result, no girl in Rishikesh is willing to marry him. Meanwhile, Geetanjali Goenka aka Ginny (Medha Shankr) lives in Delhi with her mother Neelu (Lillete Dubey). Ginny was engaged to a man named Vikram, but the engagement broke off. She is yet to get over the trauma and though she is meeting prospective grooms, she is unable to find the one. Sunny publishes an ad in the matrimonial section of a newspaper, which catches the attention of Ginny and her mother. They are tempted by the ad and approach Sunny's family. Both families meet and all seems well. In no time, Ginny marries Sunny. However, both have lied to each other and to their families. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 Movie Story Review:
Prasshant Jha's story is weak, but it could have made for a decent entertainer. Prasshant Jha's screenplay fails to cover up the minus points of the story and also seems like a bhel puri of TANU WEDS MANU [2011], BADRINATH KI DULHANIA [2017], etc. Prasshant Jha's dialogues are okay. Some one-liners are regressive and might not be accepted by the modern audience.

Prasshant Jha's direction is not worthy. To give credit where it's due, he has mounted the film in a commercial manner and shot it in the beautiful locales of Uttarakhand. A few scenes are lovely, like Ginny and Sunny meeting for the first time, Ginny marvelling that Sunny didn't ask her any awkward questions, Ram Sevak and Pintu calling Sunny at night, etc.

On the flipside, hardly any jokes land. The scene where chaos erupts in the Chaturvedi household when Neelu calls is embarrassing. Several developments seem forced merely to drive the narrative forward and they fail to make the desired impact. Ginny is shown as a modern girl and yet, she meets Sunny just once and agrees to marry him. The manner in which the makers show misunderstandings cropping up between the couple through a song at the beginning of the second half is childish. It is also laughable that Sunny had no idea that a certain video of him, which had destroyed his life, had been deleted from YouTube long ago. Anyone who had faced such trauma would have naturally taken an interest in knowing whether the said video was still available online. A scene in the pre-climax shows Ginny and Sunny mistakenly getting into the wrong bus and getting stuck in Haridwar. Interestingly, their destination is Rishikesh, which is merely around 40-45 minutes away. Sunny could have called his family and they would have immediately come to pick him up. Instead, the two start looking for hotels to spend the night! Agreed that the makers wanted to show Ginny and Sunny spending time together and getting close again. But they should have at least shown them being stranded in, say, Meerut instead of Haridwar. Aspects like these further spoil the show.

Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 Movie Review Performances:
Avinash Tiwary delivers a sincere performance and acts as per the requirement. Medha Shankr looks pretty and gives yet another fine performance after 12TH FAIL [2023]. Sudhir Pande, Vishwanath Chatterjee and Nayani Dixit lend able support. Rohit Chaudhary puts up an entertaining act and is the only one who raises a few laughs. However, his exit is silly. Lillete Dubey is dependable, as always. Gopi Bhalla (Sugriv Uncle) hams. Govind Namdeo (Ayodhya Prakash) is fair. The actor playing the heartbroken tea seller, Smriti Ka Piyush Chaiwala, is funny. In a better film, a character like this would have made a stronger impact.

Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 movie music and other technical aspects:
The music is okay. ‘Chhaap Tilak’ is the best of the lot. ‘Bad Luck Kharab’ and the other songs fail to entice. Amar Mohile's background score is functional.

Archit Patel's cinematography is appealing, while Sachin Khate's production design is aesthetic. Nidhi Yasha's costumes are realistic in the case of the secondary characters and stylish in the case of Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr. Bunty Nagi's editing is fine.

Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 Movie Review Conclusion:
On the whole, GINNY WEDSS SUNNY 2 suffers due to an insipid script, forced developments and silly goings-on. At the box office, the film has been released with minimal awareness and hence, will face a tough time.
