The history repeats itself .Last year Amir's little film Taare Zameen Par stole the thunder from all the biggies and emerged the best film of the year at the fag end .Something similar happens this year for Ghajni is movie of the year .The film is an actioner at the core but actually its an emotional one .The best part of the movie is the love story that has been incorporated in the narrative and the end is lump in a throat kind of experience. The movie simply leaves you awestruck by its sheer brilliance and the detailling..An unforegettable experience! The film opens in a medical college where Jiah khan is a student studying the different aspects of a humain brain .She has a patient in Amir Khan who has this memory loss disorder in every 15 minutes .It is told that he was actually a rich industrialist who was totally in love in Asin ,a struggling model .But destiny had something else in the store for them ...Asin gets killed by a mafia and revenge becomes the sole aim of Amir's life.. The film starts on a low note .The first 30 minutes are absolutely dull .The movie looked like a remake of Ram Gopal vermas James and Shiva. I felt suffocated .Little did I realise that was the foundation to the story and the real drama started after the flashback .The flashback portion is an absolute delight .The entire 'Mayapuri episode' is howlarious to say the least .I laughed like a crazy . The way Amir falls in love with Asin is quite convincing. He manages to pull off the role of a lover boy despite being a 45 +..However the biggest masterstroke in the half is Asin's chracter. Her introduction is abrupt and the song that follows looks totally out of the place but she is the real scene stealer in the first half .She manages to steal the every scene that she is in .Her comic timing is simply perfect. The chemistry that Amir-Asin share is absolutely terrific. There are so many unforgettable moments in the first one but the best has to be one where Amir is staring at Asin from the car when she is helping the handicapped to cross the gate .That was abslutely magical. Second half takes even a bigger jump .Its absolutely thrilling .Amir's violent streak in this half is amazing .Especially that scene in the lift where he gets struck and his expressions thereafter are absolutely jaw dropping .Action is the another highlight in this half . They are absolitely raw and definitely not meant for faint hearted especially the last chase. The way Asin is exceuted/killed is spine chilling .It makes you so sad .. Another thing I liked was that the director did not reveal his cards at the outset .There is always a curiosity to know what happened after the first diary got finished .The film totally excites you for this very reason and the director has not revealed the suspense till last 30 minutes which was a very clever move . The climax is quite emotional and the one that is sure to make your eyes moist .That was the perfect conclusion to the film in my opinion .The long song that follows after Amir receives the gift from Jiya Khan continued to haunt me even after the screening was over . Amir clearly steals the show and delivers the best performance of his entire career ..I was not sure if he could carry this role with aplomb .Seriously he surprised me big time .What a performance. He is the soul of the film . Asin is like a breath of fresh air .She is excellent .The guy playing the villian is excellent .Jiah Khan is horrid .She does not even look nor can act .I hope this is her last film ! A.R Rehman music is a big let down .Barring Guzarish and Kaise ,the remaing songs are totally avoidable .They were forced and did not fit well in the plot . Overall a must watch film ! The best masala entertainer of the year ... 4.5/5

Amazing movie, Aamir takes bollywood to a different level. I really don't like violence but this movie was different. Full credit to Murugadoss and Aamir Khan. I was so much waiting to see how they would handle the situation when everything is erased from his body, I was impressed.

Aamir is a beast and he can't be stopped. What a performance from the perfectionist. I am a SRK fan too, and all you SRK fans giving it 0.5 just because you don't like Aamir are stupid. Learn to watch a movie and then rate it. Anyways, the movie may be violent but it is justified and deserves to be seen. Aamir barley speaks, but his eyes speak to you. Asin was absolutely amazing and brilliant. Jiah is alright, Kangana would have been better. The villain is the same as in the tamil version, except a little difference in the climax it's the same as the tamil version. I won't give the story away for those who haven't seen it.
