Facts about the music of Ghajini : A. R. Rehman and Prasoon Joshi team together after a very successful collaboration in musical hits like Rang De Basanti and Taare Zameen Par! The combination of Aamir Khan and A. R. Rehman have never gone wrong except in Mangal Pandey! For the first time Rehman uses Sonu Nigam's voice as backing vocals in the opening song - Guzarish! One of the most eagerly awaited score of the year is that of Ghajini! I had my apprehensions with the score, primarily because it is a remake of a Southern flick by the same name and secondly, due to the heavy action flick it promises to be, which leaves practically no scope for good music! But overall after hearing all the songs, I am pretty satisfied with the score. Now let's straightway come to analyse the songs individually! 1. Guzarish (Javed Ali, Guest Vocals - Sonu Nigam) The first song of the album has a nice romantic feel to it with good lyrics and some very clean singing! The best part of the song is that Rehman has not let his arrangements take over the composition, and that helps the song in a big way. After a very long time, the singing and the lyrics create the mood rather than the composition itself. Sonu Nigam's alaap between the two antaras helps the listener get into the mood of the song. A very impressive output from Rehman with equally good lyrics by Prasoon Joshi and superb singing by Javed Ali! 2. Aye Bachchu (Suzanne) A song that wants to say that life is fun! Intentions are cool, and the lyrics are pretty neat, but why Rehman just goes overboard with the arrangements when it comes to fast numbers? The arrangements are so over the top that it borders on showing disrespect to the lyrics written for the song! You have to listen to the song carefully to just get the lyrics! And this complain with Rehman is not only for this number, but for most of the fast numbers he has composed in the past! This song was literally crying for Alisha Chinoy, she would have taken this number to altogether different level! Anyway, the song is okay, and could have been better with some spaced out arrangement and of course, Alisha Chinoy! 3. Kaise Mujhe (Benny Dayal, Shreya Ghoshal) Ah, what a song! The lyrics are absolutely great! Prasoon Joshi has mixed the simplicity of Anand Bakshi with the poetry of Gulzar to create one of the best romantic number of the season! You can feel your heart skipping a beat when you hear Benny Dayal and Shreya Ghoshal playing with the words of Prasoon Joshi in the ambience created by Rehman! Everthing's just so right with the song, that you dont feel betrayed as a listener. So just put on the song and let yourself fall in love with love all over again! Excellent - that's what this song is! Go for it! 4. Behka (Karthik) The song has loungy feel to it and that relaxed atmosphere is ably created by the arrangement of Rehman! I particularly loved the use of saxophone in this song. The singing is okay, the lyrics not as good as Kaise Mujhe, but still decent enough to pass muster! Overall the song has an interesting feel to it, and the credit for that fully goes to Mr. A. R. Rehman! An interesting song, will keep the listener engaged! 5. Lattoo (Shreya Ghoshal) This song has a Latin feel to it, and the lyrics once again are very unconventional! Never heard an actress singing on screen - Lattoo Lattoo Main Uspe Lattoo! Shreya Ghoshal singing Lattoo was so cute, that I just fell for the song! Hats of to Prasoon Joshi for bringing a new word to the limited dictionary of lyrics of Hindi Cinema Song! Rehman has done justice to the lyrics, and I am pleasantly surprised, because this shows that he has adapted himself to the requirements of a Hindi film song. A very cute song, you will enjoy it! 3. Kaise Mujhe (Instrumental) The instrumental version of my favorite song in this album is the nicest way that could have been possible to end the album. I am pleased that there are no remixes in this album, and that is a welcome change! Nice way to close the album! I am happy with this album, and the biggest cause for celebration for me was the lyrics! Prasoon Joshi with this album has shown that things for him are definitely bright in the future! Another remarkable thing was the chemistry between A. R. Rehman and Prasoon Joshi! The understanding between them is evident in all the songs of Ghajini! I sincerely hope and pray that this collaboration entertains us in many more scores in the future! The music of Ghajini has more plusses than minusses. Grab it, and feel warm in the cold month of December. Rating : Very Good! Bye for now! आपकी अपनी आवाज़ Vishal

Jodha-Akbar, Ada, Jaane Tu..., Slumdog Millionaire, Yuvraaj!!!! WHAT A YEAR!! how can u top all these magnificent scores...well, to tell u the truth, u CANT!! its simply impossible n rahman clearly displays his vulnerability here [something i never honestly thought existed]...i was so xtremely xited for the music of Ghajini after i heard the background music in the teaser...i truly thought rahman was simply gonna BLOW EVRYONE AWAY...especially since he was joining prasoon joshi for the first time since RDB [which was SUPERB!!!]...but this beautiful opportunity is thrown away as Ghajini turns out to be a supreme disaster in terms of quality that were so used to getting from rahman!...to the review we go! first up is Guzarish! its undoubtedly the shining star of the OST! great vocals by Javed Ali [one of my FAVORITE singers!] , heartwarming lyrics and, above all, the fantastic composition! a MUST HEAR! next up is Aye Bachchu...the title should just give away the result [but u never kno what rahman can do to u so...]...but he fails to impress this time...n HOW! WTF was he thinking! rahman/joshi try to go all western but it doesnt work one bit! y is he attempting to tread the pritam/V-S path by going all american[ish]...its uncalled for as we kno rahman is WAY above that! he gives us such amazing SOULFUL INDIAN melodies all the time! its impossible to believe rahman created this track [i rele think pritam composed it for him!] its possible to make indian music thru western arrangements u kno [as he himself proves in Slumdog Millionaire and many other past works] this bachchu is PATHETIC! Kaise Mujhe rolls in next! Uh...this is possibly one of the most annoying n irritating songs EVER made! the beginning is VERY promising but then it goes straight downhill...the composition is soooo frickin...in 1 word...BAD!!! the musics quite addicting but the "singing composition" is horrible! the lyrix r EVEN worse! the only saving grace of the track is Shreya Ghosal's part n her singing...but thats not even enough! SKIP!!! the Kaise Mujhe Instrumental is much more pleasing in terms of content...primarily bcuz only shreyas part is incorporated into the track! THANK GOD! RECOMMENDED! the 2nd gem of the album [after Guzarish] is Behka! the jazz flavor is simply GOOSEBUMPIN n gets u in the mood instantly! the lyrics r above average this time around...finally joshi! i knew u would come around! one thing tho: i wish rahman had sung this FABULOUS composition himself! that woulda been memorable...this guy [Karthik] does adequately well nevertheless! STRONGLY RECOMMENDED! the last song of the album is Latoo! i rele hate bagging on rahman...but i hav to...cmon rahman! one more hits the dirt! i guess u can live thru this song once but then u never wanna go bac to it! its nowhere addicting as rahmans genius creations of the [recent] past...shreya was awesome in Kaise Mujhe but falters here...due to the negative assistance of the composition! the lyrix suck too as u probably figured from the title! NEXT! & the frickin albums alrede over!!! AHHHH! its not even CLOSE to being good as rahmans other 4 OSTs this year! i wish he woulda finishd off the year on a better note...what a golden opportunity it was...anyways shit happens...we look forward to better music from him next year...as for Ghajini, its a disaster! buy it for Guzarish n Behka...or just save yur $ fellas!

Ghajani has the music given by the man who has dominated this year, A.R. REHMAN. With Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa, Ada, Jodha Akbar, Yuvraaj and now Ghajani, Rehman is unstoppable. The 1st song is sweet melody, sung by Javed Ali with the special guest singing by Sonu Nirgam, who has given some beautiful songs to bollywood. The combo is unstoppable. As Jashan E Bahar (Jodhar Akbar) and Tu muskura (Yuvraaj), this one is truly loveable. Next song in different style, very western, but sung amazingly stylishly by Suzanne D'Mello. This heavy rock meta song is another worthy track. Well, I am listening this songs and its hold my attention till the end! Another thump up! Kaise Mujhe is another great song which given the same feel as Jaane Tu from JTYJN, sung by Shreyal Ghosal and yes Benny Dayal who gives another heart breaking track Dost (Yuvraaj). Behka has full of sensation, sweetness to its feel. The footapping madernize track is in all way awesomely sung by Karthik. Its an amazing experience. Latoo is completely in Rehman’s style. Its an only song which can make dent in the whole album, but again as Shano Shano in Yuvraaj, its carry some positive note note. The foottapping music and sweet melodie are the highlight to save this song. As the beginning was so-so, but when its cross its second parts, its became awesome. Overall another decent track. Kaise Mujhe (instrumental) is the same theme song as in most films, and its turn out to be the best track of Ghajani so far. The shreya Ghosal vocal in parts is really exceptional. On the whole, Ghajani Rank in Rehman Best music albums. Rehman has composed different kind of music, classic, soulful, melodies, western, modernized, youthful and now rocking Ghajani!

Don't make this into an Rab Ne Vs Ghajini issue, one attempt is safe while other is experimental. Don't judge the music for what you expected it to be and love it for what it is fresh, wacky, serenading....I can go on and on. Keep SRK, Aamir Khan and A R Rehman out of ur mind and listen to them multiple times and you are bound to find them better than u thought they are.
