0.5 Poor

The sad thing about Akshay Kumar is that I KNOW he can act and make good films. "Namastey London" (especially) and "Bhool Bhulaiya" are prime examples of the kind of work Akki is capable of. Why he insists in being in these kinds silly, cheesy, slapstick of films are beyond me. I've gotten to the point where I avoid any movie he is in because I don't want to waste my money on silly crap. I came to this revelation when I saw "Welcome", which is THE worst Hindi film I've ever seen. I thought "Chandni Chowk To China" would be a break from this crap. I was SO wrong and I want my money and time back!

I have to argue with others, who have given this movie high ratings, that one should go to the movie with no expectations. No, that's the WRONG way to see a movie! If that were the case, then there would be NO really good movies because directors would know people would just expect mediocre work and rely only on an actor's popularity. It's poor ratings and bad box office that finally let directors, producers, and even the actors, know that the movie-going public is tired of being fed lousy screenplays and mediocre films.

Akki, stop doing this cheap garbage. Pick your scripts better. Get away from slapstick crap and move on to something with drama, romance, and light comedy (aka stuff like "Namastey London"). I'll go and see you again when you do. Until then, I'll not waste my money or time.
