It is a fun movie, RajKumar herani stated that "if you loved munnabhai then you will love 3 idiots for sure". In my case, i loved 3 idiots but MunnaBhai was much more better movie (it had lots of fun .. a real comedy film) where in 3 idiots (it is mixed between drama and comedy). There was also some scenes copied from MunnaBhai such as Raju being at Hospital and aamir is trying to get him move and react

Aamir Khan is definitely one of my favorite actors. All the concepts in this movie were superb, and all the philosophies in there are great to live by. My all time favorite line in there is "Don't chase success, chase excellence. Success will follow." This movie teaches us to strive to be the best we can be, and to leave the rest up to destiny. And of course there is that famous line "Aal Izz Well!" One of my favorite movies of all time!

3 Idiots is the most awaited movie of the year. Expectations are high not only because its Aamir Khan’s next release after the blockbuster Ghajini, also its Raj Kumar Hirani’s 3rd film as a director after the critically and commercially successful Munna Bhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munna Bhai. So, one expect a lot when two cinema genius come together, keeping in mind the hype created by the extensive and creative marketing of the movie. So does it deliver? YES is the answer. It’s not just about friendship, love or the fun filled college life. But the film also does some serious talking in a light way and that’s the specialty of Hirani who entertains the viewer and at the same time leave a lot to think about. The very first scene sets the tone of the film and is followed by some more excellently executed entertaining and interesting scenes. Introduction of the Professor – Boman Irani Ragging scene – Aamir Khan’s introduction Kareena’s sister Reception Joshi’s suicide attempt and the recovery sequence Omi’s hilarious “chamatkar†speech Though Joshi’s Job interview and the Delivery sequence gets filmy and somewhat goes over the top but one can ignore them. The movie is on the same lines as was Munna Bhai Series. Also it resembles somewhere with Taare Zameen Per and one can draw parallels with these films but that’s all about it. It has its own individuality that sets it apart and even higher than those. The story and screenplay is straight out of the life and one can relate to the characters and situations easily. The film criticizes the educational system, the flaws, and the way we are being taught. It criticizes the system, the attitude of the teachers, the student suicide issue, wrong career selections, and unrealistic expectations of parents. Aamir is superb. Essaying a college student at the age of 43 is not easy. But he does it brilliantly with the wittiness, the way he walks the way he talks and the energy and liveliness he shows. Madhavan and Parsoon Joshi have played there parts well. Kareena Kapoor’s role was short but she excels in every scene. Boman is in top form. His character is well written and he delivers one of his best performances. Omi (Silencer) is the real surprise who had the most entertaining role and he played it with ease. Cinematography is excellent. Music is al right. Its not a blockbuster kind of album but the popularity will increase with the business of the film. And “All izz Well†is the next big phrase on everyone mouth. 3 idiots ends a disappointing 2009 on a high note. Overall, a very well written and well directed film. It entertains as well as educates the viewer. Don’t even think of skipping this film. 5 out of 5

A film with humongous expectations and unprecedented box office collections under its belt, 3 idiots is an appelaing piece of entertainment product up for grabs. With that in mind set, I set out to watch the movie and the first hour did not disappoint either, it lived up to its billing. Humorous scenes one after the other, sequences laden with realistic touches in tandem, it was sure to attract swarms of public to its gates and it did. The film has merits galore and Aamir Khan's superlative performance along with Raju Hirani's repertoire as a director matched and propelled the movie like a machine - a well-lubricated one at that. The 'Balaatkar' speech is so well done - in fact, it is one of the most humorous scenes of recent times in Bollywood movies. It makes one laugh till the body parts start aching. The actor who delivers the speech is gleefully nerdy and he tickles the funny bone like no other actor has done in recent times. The scene in which he sliently slips pornographic magazine into the dorr of his classmates a night prior to the exam reminds us of our own college days when pals found numerous innovative ways to disturb others. I grinned from ear to ear when the 3 idiots penetrate a party and take in their plates food akin to be enough for five people each. With no shame and little annoyance, they make stories when they find that the host is none other than their finicky Principal who knows only one way ie how to hate them. Boman Irani rocks in all his scenes and is a quintessential part of the setup. Thumbs up to him. The scene in which a ragging senior gets electrocuted while peeing at the door is funny. However, for all the funny moments the film possesses, it has its down sides as well. The director who delivers tenderly sensuous scenes in the first half falters when he makes the lead actress run away over a frivolous encounter from her wedding do, from the ceremony itself. Quite an insensitive move. The child delivery scene in which a vacuum cleaner is used to deliver a baby who goes limp at birth and hets into life as soon as every body yell Aal Izz Welll is genuinely overdone and ludicrous; it takes the film down a few notches. Absurdity was neither expected of a seasoned actor like Aamir Khan nor of some one of the calibre of Raju Hirani. The film that verges as one of the greatest movies in a few earlier scenes dive abysmally low so as to make the whole thing sound like an utter nonsense. Perhaps, senselessness is what sets apart Bollywood movies from the sensible ones in the other side of the Atlantic. The college that is supposedly the best in India as depicted in the movie would have looked more authentic if the director concentrated on showing some academic activities as well. The students do not act as if they are from the elite breed and look down right foolish. All in all, 3 idiots is in no way the greatest film Bollywood has seen as has been circulated in media; it has actually achieved more than what it deserves. If this movie is the best they can offer, it won't be a gargantuan task to better this mark. Hype kills at times, but this time around it has done wonders for a movie that does not deserve as much kudos as it has been receiving. Even then, 3 idiots is a must watch, an enjoyable movie, but for a few failings. Salil Pradhan, Feb 2, 2010
