Actor Varun Tej has reportedly sustained a serious injury while shooting for his upcoming sports drama Bhari. The incident occurred during an intense training and practice session, where the actor was preparing to portray a volleyball player for the film.

According to reports, Varun Tej, who has been undergoing a rigorous physical transformation for the role, suffered a severe knee fracture while rehearsing for an important sequence. The injury sparked widespread concern among fans, with rumours suggesting that the actor had to undergo surgery.

 

Addressing the situation and putting speculation to rest, Varun’s sister and producer Niharika Konidela took to social media to share an official update on his condition. In her statement, she confirmed both the injury and the medical procedure. “We would like to inform everyone that my brother, Varun Tej, recently sustained a severe knee fracture while practicing volleyball for our upcoming film ‘Bhari’. He has successfully undergone surgery, and the procedure went well. He is currently recovering under medical supervision”.

 

 

She further reassured fans about his recovery and expressed gratitude for the support pouring in from all quarters. “We are hopeful that he will regain full strength and health soon, and we truly appreciate all the love, concern, and support during this time.”

 

Following the update, fans of the South star flooded social media with messages wishing him a speedy recovery. Many praised his dedication to the role, noting the physical demands of preparing for a sports-based character.

 

Bhari, which is being produced by Niharika Konidela, is directed by Yadhu Vamsi. The film has already generated curiosity for its premise, with Varun Tej stepping into a physically demanding role that required extensive training in volleyball.

 

The injury, however, may impact the film’s shooting schedule, although no official confirmation on exact time of delay has been made. Given the extent of the fracture and the recovery process, the actor is expected to take some time off before resuming work.
