Kuberaa song launch: Dhanush reveals "I DON'T know Hindi"; adds, "Rashmika Mandanna was TOTALLY fine shooting in dump yard for 6-7 hours; she told me, 'I can't smell anything'"

Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, Dalip Tahil, producers Puskur Ram Mohan Rao, co-producers Vipul Agarwal and Manish Vasisht, Janhvi, who represented producer Suniel Narang and others attended the launch of the song 'Pippi Pippi Dum Dum Dum' from the upcoming Pan-India film Kuberaa in Mumbai. Dhanush had a hectic work day and yet, managed to appear for some time at the event.

The fans of Dhanush couldn’t control when he came on stage. Dhanush addressed them in Tamil and informed the host, “I don’t know Hindi. I can talk in English, a little bit, that too (laughs).”

 

He then said, “Kuberaa is a very, very different film and a very special film. It is not another film or just another event. This is a film close to my heart and I am sure they all (pointing at his co-stars) agree with me. We had a fantastic experience shooting and also some weird experiences shooting for it! We shot in dump yards and garbage trucks. But then, every experience teaches you something or the other. We are happy that we worked with a brilliant, positive team. You don’t see me come out too often (laughs). But this film deserves to be promoted like this.”

 

Talking more about his role, he said, “I play a beggar. I did a lot of research and homework. I stood in the sun. All those are lies (smiles). I didn’t do anything as such! I just had to follow my director. Sekhar sir was brilliant. He taught me the nuances and the slang. He made life very easy for me. It’s a very different character from what I have played before. Hence, I really enjoyed the challenge.”

 

Dhanush raised laughs as he said, “Rashmika and I shot in a dump yard for about 6-7 hours. Rashmika was totally fine with it. She told me, ‘I can’t smell anything’!” Rashmika Mandanna couldn’t control her laughter over this revelation.

 

Dhanush clarified, “I read somewhere that it was a big challenge to shoot the scene and that we were wearing a mask. It was not that big a deal actually.”

 

After posing for the paps, Dhanush decided to sign off in Hindi. He asked the host for the correct words and then said, “Jald hi milenge!”

 

Directed by Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa releases in cinemas on June 20.
