Drishyam 3: Mohanlal ‘CONFIRMS’ third instalment of the Jeethu Joseph film

While Mohanlal fans are excited to see him on the big screen as Ab’raam Khureshi in L2: Empuraan, the Malayalam superstar has sparked further excitement among fans by dropping a major update on one of his most popular franchises – Drishyam. As many of them are eager to know more about the third instalment of the suspense thriller, the actor has ‘confirmed’ about Drishyam 3 being in the works, which has further amplified the anticipation among netizens.

Mohanlal took to X aka Twitter to share the news by dropping a photo with filmmaker Jeethu Joseph and announcing, “The Past Never Stays Silent… Drishyam 3 Confirmed! #Drishyam3”. The post sparked an interesting conversation among users where many of them have shared reactions on the platform. Some even predicted how the story will move forward. “Perhaps, the #Drishyam book which #Georgekutty wrote is set to be made into a movie, and the scriptwriter, digging deeper into the tale for research purposes, uncover some carefully hidden truths? You've got me intrigued. #Drishyam3,” predicted one of the users, whereas another one shared, “When he buried those ashes in jungle maybe someone saw him and from thr the story will go further”.

 

 

In the past, Malayalam actor had opened up about the progress of the film wherein he had told India Today, “I have no idea. It's in the process, in the pipeline. It is not that easy to bring out a good sequel. It is a big challenge. Part three is a big headache for them, for the director and for all of us. But we are in the process. It will happen someday, I am also praying for it to happen.”

 

Along with Mohanlal as the lead, Drishyam franchise also featured Meena as the leading lady along with ted by Jeethu Joseph. It stars Mohanlal alongside Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sharath, Siddique, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Roshan Basheer and Neeraj Madhav in key roles. While the first instalment released in 2013, the second released much later in 2021 amid the pandemic and they have opened to rave, positive reviews.
